Everyone will condemn Trump for another crypto extraction if the rumour is true. Then they will line up to ape the launch. That is why we cannot have nice things. Crypto was built on cypherpunk values and principles. Now its biggest influencers seem motivated by greed alone.

i'm genuinely glad to see crypto getting the much-deserved run and attention again. but if there's anything i'd ask from everyone this time around, it's to be a little more discerning about who we choose to elevate in this industry. the people we give our attention, trust, and platforms to aren't inconsequential. they literally shape the culture, they influence what gets rewarded, and, in many ways, can make or break the direction this entire space takes. so as the attention comes back again be more careful about who you give yours to. it's not imperative to be a yes-men to large accounts here just to make it. respect your own intellect. be more discerning.

Not a weird question. The moment you put pen on paper, you're a writer. There is no entry to barrier in being one. From ideation to finalization, that process is handcrafted by YOU and you alone. Just as someone who picks up a brush is a painter, or someone who edits a video is an editor, the same holds true for writing. It's an art form. The moment you have a finished work, you're a writer.

I'm asking my followers for a small favor. Many of you know I absolutely love Dachshunds, and I also dog sit daily. One of the sweetest Dachshunds I've ever cared for, Ringo, is currently battling cancer. His family has had to stay in Airbnbs out of state for chemo and radiation. Even with pet insurance, the costs have become overwhelming. I'd love to see this community prove that we can come together for something bigger than ourselves. Bigger than a rug crypto token and bigger than pack ripping. Even $5 makes a difference. If just 2% of my 50,000 followers donated $5, we'd raise $5,000. I've been in Web3 since 2020, and I'll admit my expectations are low. I hope to be proven wrong. If you can help, thank you. If you can't, a repost means the world ❤️ gofund.me/a337322d9

Thank you Serein for making me feel less alone on how I'm feeling. Your response perfectly captures what happens to educators in this space that are fighting the uphill battle vs hype, gambling and paid attention. I myself can only conclude that our time and resources are finite, and they should be used towards something that feels meaningful. That belief is gone for me in web3.
honestly, i don't even know how to explain this, but i feel a little bad that i got to meet someone as fantastic as @wiimee like this. because it genuinely shows how huge the problem we have here and how little of support that educators are getting in this space. and I can relate to almost everything he said here. starting early 2023 until last year, i dedicated most of my time to creating educational and informative content around crypto and web3. and i wasn't even trying to create content just for the sake of getting attention. i genuinely wanted to fill a gap that i felt was missing in this space. i spent years writing about the business side of crypto, NFTs, and web3. i published case studies, infographics, explainers, and analysis because i believed that if people understood how businesses actually worked, how teams operated, and what made projects sustainable, they could make better decisions. i was hoping that they wouldnt just understand the space, but actually discern which teams, people, and projects deserved their time, effort, support, and most importantly, their money. so for a long while, i kept trying to fill that gap. but eventually, i reached the same point that a lot of educators probably reach at some point. no matter how much effort i put in, no matter how much time i spent, no matter how many posts i wrote... i felt like i was barely moving the needle. and honestly, as shameful as it is to admit, it genuinely broke me. that's why i stopped creating content early last year. i came to the point that I repeatedly asked myself what the point was. the people i was trying to educate were often the same people who continued supporting grifters, giving attention to KOLs who contributed very little, and gambling their way through the industry. i asked myself again and again, if i could put all of this effort into trying to educate people, and the result was still so incredibly small, then what was i actually accomplishing? and that's probably why i've spent the better part of the past year feeling completely lost. lately, funny enough, ive been trying to make an effort to start posting again. you've probably seen some of it. it's mostly random stuff right now, and honestly, i still don't really know what i'm doing. i don't know how to start again. because the space i'm looking at today doesnt feel like the same space i thought i was dedicating my life to. when i started, i genuinely had this grand vision of what we could build together over the next 10 years. i had so much hope for what this industry could become, how we could bring blockchain and crypto to the masses, how we could evangelize the technology, the communities, and the ethos behind it. and somehow, so much of that got reduced to gambling. that's the part i dont think enough people understand. i dont think enough people see the gravity of what we've lost, or how much the incentives of this space have changed. so seeing a post like this, as a fellow educator, man, it genuinely pains me. because it reminds me that i'm probably not the only educator who's reached this point. but yes! i will keep on screaming: educators need more support in web3!!

Man, there's lots to say to this really. What I found in all these years of educational / security work is, that people will not care as long as it's not directly impacting OR benefiting them. There were many great tools and features on the security landscape that not once were mentioned by KOLs, because, guess what, they didn't get to make a buck off the advertising. Our space is all about making money, not saving it or even understanding the tech fundamentals. Sometimes I think my approach was wrong too, we often want people to be car mechanics just to drive a car. No one wants to do that in real life either. Anyway, I think it's refreshing and needed to have contrary voices in the space to the usual yolo hype, but this will never be something that's grabbing a lot of attention so the measure of your impact will be small.

had an interesting conversation with a founder earlier that completely shifted how i think about AI. the common belief is that the most valuable skill in an AI-first world is learning how to use AI effectively. but i'm starting to think the opposite is closer to the truth. as AI becomes embedded in more of our daily workflows, the biggest advantage will come from having the taste and judgment to recognize where it shouldnt be used. those with deep understanding on how traditional markets operate beyond social media will win big.

Facebook is actually so cracked and untapped. Almost nobody posts on Facebook because they think it's for their mom and grandma. Far from it. My creative director, @blakegfield made a new account and gained almost 2,000 followers in 24 hours reposting his IG reels to Facebook. Your target audience is on Facebook. It takes no effort to just repost your short form and long form videos on Facebook. You can literally do it when you post on Instagram too. It's a little toggle to crosspost. Facebook is so desperate for creators right now because almost nobody posts on it. They'll let you post literally anything, as much as you want. One of our clients posts 30+ times per day. He's getting 3X his YouTube views/subscribers. It's insane.
One thing this experience made me realize is just how underappreciated Facebook has become among creators. somewhere along the way, we collectively wrote the platform off for no apparent reason. people associate it with boomers, marketplace listings, and old memes. As a result, many creators never even consider it as a serious distribution channel anymore. ironically, I think that's exactly what makes it interesting. the competition isn't nearly as intense as platforms like X, where it literally feels like an endless race for attention. everyone is optimizing for the first few seconds, the perfect hook, and immediate engagement because content here has such a short lifespan. Facebook is fundamentally different. the algorithm seems much more willing to let content find its audience over time instead of demanding that it performs within the first hour. as someone whose content has always revolved around long-form thoughts, commentary, and opinion pieces, that was honestly refreshing. I felt like for once, I didn't have to change my writing style. that alone makes me think Facebook is one of the most underutilized platforms for creators especially for writers today. again, I'm not saying that it's "better" than X, but because so few people are actually competing for the same attention there. as what @natecurtiss_yt said: "Nobody's talking about it yet, but Facebook is probably a goldmine 99% of creators are missing out on." just look at the amount of engagements that my very first long-form written content piece that I published on my account 4 days ago got.

What happens when you die: They divide up your shit. They summarize your life in 500-1000 words. People who knew you less say sorry to people who knew you more. Everyone eats, drives home, and wakes up the next day and goes to work. Whatever you’re worried about won’t be in those 500 words. You can dare greatly or not at all, but you’re gonna die either way. Might as well squeeze every motherfucking drop out.

I genuinely hate that @natecurtiss_yt gave this tutorial away for free because this could easily be worth thousands of dollars in consulting fees. I know this framework works because I've used a very similar approach myself for gaming clients on Facebook. (Also love how he “owns” the burner method. It's essentially a benchmarking and algorithm-training strategy that we use a lot on TikTok. It's one of the ways we discover viral concepts before committing resources to them. So as an extra free tip: if you want to discover viral video formats, I'd argue that we are now on a transformative phase where Tiktok > Youtube is more efficient as research platform) The best part about what Nate discusses here though is that the framework is largely platform-agnostic. It works across most content-driven platforms, whether that’s TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube. (X is probably the exception. The game here is completely different from video-first platforms.) So at this point, I'd go as far as saying that the only real moat for creators now is speed: > Speed of research > Speed of execution, testing, and validation > Creative output > Personality

It's really hard to create a counter-argument on this statement because it's fundamentally true. But there's a nuance not enough service-based business owners are preparing themselves. And this is something that they would only regret by the time that they already scaled. Because the exact part on why it works early (low risk, low cost, etc) is the same reason why it would stop working later. and the overall argument really boils down on this one idea: there's no economies of scale in human labor. the difference between building product vs starting a service-based business looks exactly like this: product → build once → sell a million times → marginal cost drops toward zero → margin expands as you scale service → sell your time → scale means hiring more people → cost per unit stays flat or rises → margin compresses as you scale And RETAINING talent is literally the make or break part of your business. > business grows → you need more top-tier people > now your top-tier people get poached by industries that pay more > so retention cost climbs → and it climbs faster than your revenue > which means margin peaks early → then gets eaten alive on the way up so it caps out. revenue keeps climbing but your margin also bends back down as the business grows. overall, fantastic advice byt @eptwts here!
i see a massive bias on X - beginners are getting pushed into diving headfirst into things that sell themselves like consumer apps, info, saas, etc. but most people that have actually made significant money with these things can attest that the easiest way to get to +$10k/month is to sell your services directly you're fighting an uphill battle by tryna sell your solution in a hands-off reusable format, 1000's of people are doing the same thing - this should be a gamble reserved for those that already have time/capital to invest & leads to sell to i don't think i have a single successful friend who didn't start out with some type of service-based business that required them to actually work... you should be balls-deep in your industry & used to getting your hands dirty before you go for a "build once, sell twice" product on the plus side, working for people who have a functioning business is also a form of apprenticeship, it's free mentorship that you get paid for, win/win

Whenever I bring up @swaydotfun and the Narrative Market category it’s pioneering, one question always follows: How does this differ from Prediction Markets like Polymarket or Kalshi? It's a fair question given how the mechanics look adjacent. But they're built on completely different layers of how markets work. A prediction market trades the outcome. > You're betting on whether something happens > The market resolves at a fixed endpoint > Your edge is probability accuracy > The game is being a better forecaster than the crowd A narrative market trades the story that drives outcomes in the first place > You're trading the framing, the thesis, the belief > The market evolves with the story's lifecycle > Your edge is thesis quality > The game is being earlier than the crowd on what gets talked about, framed, and believed They're still on beta but if you have more questions and if you want an access to the platform, @maverick23NFT is always eager to cater.

There are so many talented people with brilliant creative minds and ideas we'll never hear from, because they're too busy surviving. Others tried and burned out. Others gave up what they loved because loving it didn't pay enough to live. What a brutal world we live in.

The fact that most of the main characters on CT right now couldn’t even tell you what they're building or what cause they're pushing for in this space already says A LOT. Should we still even call this "Crypto Twitter" when most of the KOLs left here are basically just farming engagement off each other? Worse, most don't really have actual or educated opinion on the subjects they talk about. Gone are the days when scrolling through CT could actually teach you something about cyberpunk culture, expose you to debates about where this space should be headed, or make you think deeper about the future of crypto itself. It was soooo immersive. You'd really feel that you're here for a cause. Now, everything feels like nothing more than circus entertainment on the TL.
