The size/height of the dome for a proposed development of an Ethiopian Orthodox Church in a Las Vegas neighborhood (west wind rd) made news a couple of days ago.
Reps of the Ethiopian church expressed their intention to work with the concerned neighbors and cut the dome size down to half of the original proposed height but some residents still had reservations. One such resident is seen in this news report saying heโs concerned that these Ethiopians arenโt โassimilatingโ and should perhaps aim to โlookโ like the other churches in the area.
He also said the size of the church makes him fear that the church will make his neighborhood become โthe neighborhood of the churchโ instead of just โa church in the neighborhoodโ
- I pray they succeed and the neighborhood accept the blessing of the church thatโs coming to them.

A lot of people were doubling down and some were reprimanding the way many of us called out this young woman for the disparaging and hateful things she said about the characteristics of โBlackโ people.
Due to the viral video that caused a lot of backlash and a lot of anger from mainly African Americans and Ethiopians who were implicated by her initial statements, many took it upon themselves to have discussions with her to correct herself and also to apologize for her derogatory comments.
She did just that today. She took accountability and has expressed her genuine desire to learn and correct her statements. Good on her and Iโm proud of the community that stood up to hold our own accountable.
This is how it should be.

Almost 2 years ago and many times before then, a few of us made observations about where things were going in the political sphere of the HOA.
Itโs all happened as predicted.
Speaking truth came with egregious labels, targeting and continuous attacks. But beyond the personal frustrations, the most aggravating was the simultaneous waves of new agendas and new divisive tactics.
Loyalties shifted, heroes were shunned, more issues introduced to keep the bird cage in a state of constant squabble. Meanwhile the work towards the main mission continued.
Patterns havenโt changed.
How any true self respecting patriotic Ethiopian can condone the hypocrisy and belligerently undiplomatic attitude of the GoE is mind boggling. But in Pure PP fashion, the unhinged โzemenawiโ prosperians masquerading as patrioticEthiopians continue to insult, war monger and disregard the sovereignty of neighboring states while puffing their chests with an attitude of arrogance and assumed superiority that will undoubtedly cause the people to face the consequences of all their misdeeds.
Why do I say this? Well just examine how many of the negative claims about Ethiopia they continue to check off like their real job is the defamation of the state itself;

-the โHegemonic oppressor stateโ,
-the โExpansionistsโ

It is my belief that prosperians are cosplaying as ProEthiopians and literally trying to implode the country through self destruction. Itโs not hard to understand it once you realize the same system, individuals and institutions that promoted anti-Ethiopian politics are in charge and actively working. But they will come running to blame it on โShabiyaโ or โEgyptโ or โWakandaโ whoever else but themselves. Some call this confuse and convince, but I like how @MaedotmEthiopia appropriately calls this the แญแซแ แแฃ syndrome. Which means the equivalent of โblame it on the boogie manโ. What I would give to see when half of the useful idiot cadres realize the boogie man is in the mirror.
So donโt be shocked when morally bankrupt, ideologically flawed, shape shifting minions (this is Not a direct dig at Taye - who blocked me for no reason btw and Iโm still salty), who are void of integrity and operate with venomous intent act deplorably. They are on brand. They also lie and consistently prove their insecurity every time they celebrate as their masters march soldiers, parade generals, do push-ups and behave with all sorts of cringy fake bravado. Beneath all the hoopla are real corpses of fellow Ethiopians buried under drones, real women and children suffering with unexplainable pain, fear, hungerโฆthere are really millions in desperate poverty who canโt afford to eat or live in peace and the absolute minority are frolicking in the streets of Addis enjoying the borrowed prosperity that cost the soul of the nation. This is not a victorious story from any honest perspective, itโs tragic and sad.
So donโt be misled.
The PSYOP games are wicked and laced with clever pro. And we know some of the โagentsโ employed from this side of the pond (eg: genzebu, chapter, Edenโฆif you know you know).
Some of my Eri brethren wonder why I would defend Ethiopia so easily, considering the obvious attacks and threats to Eritreans? Some assume bias despite the constant โyou arenโt Ethiopian you Shabia Banda attacks from the PP campโ My answer is simply, just look at whatโs happening to the people of Ethiopia and evaluate for yourself who is suffering the most and at the hands of whom? What is the reality vs the presumed reality? Because the narratives have a purpose and agenda. The images and choice phrases are meant to anger you and make you respond to trigger another response and back and forth. Itโs a campaign to influence behavior and we are all sitting in the most popular platform where this is done, by professionals.
It is meant to push buttons and provoke everyone. The objective is to erode the connection between the various peoples internally and externally, and to promote โNationalismโ through ideas like;
Unity - fail
Sovereignty - fail (youโve sold half the nation to Dubai in exchange for fountains and shiny bright lights in Addis..sorry finfinee)
The Gerd - (semi winning here - until Ethiopians have electricity there is no gloating)
Food security - massive fail

Forensic and archival analysis confirms that the underlying image is an authentic mid-century photograph, dating to approximately 1959, depicting the traditional Irreechaa Malkaa celebration at Lake Hora Arsadi in #Debra_Zeit, not Lake Tana. The Amharic text at the bottom is a modern digital superimposition rendered in a 2000s Unicode computer font (Nyala), while the high-speed shutter capture of splashing water and moving rowers was technically impossible in the Ethiopian interior in 1880. Furthermore, the volcanic crater rim and the mid-century wooden plank rowboats are characteristic of Debra_Zeitโs crater lakes and completely incompatible with Lake Tanaโs expansive topography and indigenous papyrus #tankwa traditions.
