Here’s a closer look at the Next-Gen @Tesla Roadster’s Thrust and Fan Suction system.
Both of these systems will be on the production version of the Roadster. It isn’t a concept.
• The thruster system produces >80 kN of thrust (roughly a single fighter-jet engine without afterburner).
• The Thrust configuration will do 0-60 in less than 0.9 seconds (Tesla did 0-60 in 0.81s live)
• The suction system is able to produce over 2 G of downforce at a standstill.
• 4 independent drop-down skirts seal the underbody.
• Each fan is spun past 15,000 rpm, each fan targeting about 20 kW (roughly 80 kW total for all four).
This is what happens when a rocket company joins the automotive world.

Yep, it's honestly gutwrenching to see all of this laid out so openly and clearly. Catastrophe looks virtually inevitable without some kind of miracle, like a 10-100x overnight increase in AI demand or the biggest govt bailout in history.

All joking aside, I give SpaceX less than 50% chance of actually building a workable lunar architecture. When it becomes obvious they will simply cease to perform and take whatever penalties the contract calls for. Loss of Artemis income will be a rounding error.

And worse, the frantic AI buildout is basically guaranteed cannibalize at parts of Starlink's workforce, resources, and launch capacity, actively adding friction to the gears of SpaceX's only proven money printer.

Had SpaceX not committed suicide by bailing out and acquiring xAI, they were on the cusp of profitability - enough to fund Starship - through Starlink, a stable existing business. Now, there is ~0 chance that Starlink will grow fast enough to cover xAI's burn rate anytime soon.

Drones fly at speeds of 120 kilometers per hour or more. Starlink stopped working in Ukraine at speeds of 60–70 km/h.
Anything moving faster than that requires Starshield. All UAVs require it.

If it were up to Putin Starlink would be top speed for everyone all the time. Russia would love that.

Starlink and Starshield share tech, hardware and command and control infrastructure. It would not surprise me if the two systems were more commingled in operation than even the DOD was led to believe. A distinction without a difference.
