Our actinosome story is now online in @ACSSynBio pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…
Look at these cuties express GFP in a flash! Excellent work by the first author @ketanganar; worth mentioning that the idea was sparked serendipitously with a BSc student doing a thesis with us 😀 @PCC_WUR

A three-dimensional container capable of orchestrating biochemical reactions is a prerequisite for engineering #synthetic #cells
Researchers at Wageningen University have developed a simple technique for making them.

@SiddhuLab @ketanganar
Very happy to contribute to '3D-printed PDMS barriers for flexible flow control in paper microfluidics', now published in @ACS_AMI pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021…
Congrats to the team and Chang Chen, currently doing a PhD with us! blue 0 barriers fast flow, red 6 barriers slow flow
Our work on liquid crystals as biosensors is now online in @ACS_AMI! Look at these beauties rapidly switch their colour in response to amphiphiles. We show lipid and fatty acid sensing both in vitro and in live zebrafish!

Great work by @lwhonaker @PCC_WUR
And of course I should not forget @sylvia_brugman who added further excitement to the story through zebrafish experiments!
See below for a nice postdoc opportunity to do interdisciplinary research involving micro(scopy + fluidics + biome)!

A new twist on using the biopolymer actin and condensates to form biocompatible synthetic cell containers. A nice news article on the recent actinosome pre-print by @SiddhuLab and @ketanganar.

Very happy to receive the NWO-XS grant! A nice end-of-the-year bonus for the lab and a great way to start the vacation! We want to sub-compartmentalize synthetic cells, which is not a bad idea I think 😉 Thank you @NWO_Science nwo.nl/en/news/twentysix-gro…

Check out our work on building biosensors using pretty liquid crystal droplets! We detect amphiphile-specific color response and even tested it in vivo! Fantastic work by @lwhonaker and special thanks to @sylvia_brugman for feeding zebrafish our sensors!

Condensate-membrane interactions leading to vesicle reshaping! Looking amazing! Congratulations!
Molecular condensates in vesicles reshape membranes to produce kinks & nanotubes but super-resolution STED is super enough to resolve them all @MpiciPotsdam @PotsdamScience @AdvSciNews Thanks to Ziliang Zhao (now @AgEggeling) @ja_steinkuehler @LabRobinson bit.ly/3qt2BGL
Great to see OLA, an on-chip liposome production method that I developed with @cees_dekker being highlighted by @Fluigent

Save the date! SynCell2022 will take place from 18 to 20 May 2022 in Delft.
It was an absolute pleasure and an honor to be on the PhD committee of Ariane Stucki from @BioanalyticsLab led by Petra Dittrich! A big congrats to Ariane for a fabulous thesis! Plus, how could I miss a trip to beautiful Basel, my alma mater 🤩
Very interesting work! Congrats @SpruijtLab
More exciting news! @DrManzarsial his discovery has lead to an outstanding paper in @NatureChemistry. Also big congratulations to @WojtekPLipinski and
