If #Councillors, #MP’s, #CouncilStaff … got on with their jobs the #Public would not need to tweet #CivicIssues. Also these people need to stop using #SocialMedia to #ShowBoat as it exposes no real work is actually being achieved. Tweeting is not the job. #Results are the job.

Many people will never go to Oxford street because not everyone can walk 1 km and there is not a single bench on a street to sit and rest.
It is another move to push out older people, invalids, people with limitations from Oxford street.
Also this is a move to destroy these shops

The walking distances are not too bad tbh. If you're able enough to walk around a department store, you'll be fine.

Closing much of Oxford Street to traffic may be a good thing in principle, but yesterday I watched buses struggling to navigate turning off, causing gridlock. I think of people with disabilities who rely on buses&can’t walk long distances. Where is their public transport access?

Trees are time machines! A single mature oak can absorb 48 pounds of CO2 annually, helping combat climate change. But did you know some bristlecone pines are over 5,000 years old, living links to the dawn of civilization?

I’m super conscious that media people, the industry I come from, think it’s extreme to post and focus this much on climate change.
But science says this could potentially be catastrophic for the whole world.
There has never ever been a threat on this scale.
Even nuclear war - climate collapse in a worst case scenario, scientists say, would take significantly longer to recover from, potentially thousands of years.
How can it be that so few media folk understand, care, engage or speak about this?

When the Oxford children's dictionary discarded dozens of nature-words—"dandelion," "fern," "starling"—as irrelevant to children's imagination and replaced them with words like "broadband" and "cut-and-paste," this inspired act of resistance was born: themarginalian.org/2019/06/1…

As an OAP I’ve honestly never felt of less worth. The govt clearly hates old folks, we’re a burden and young folks take their lead questioning why we get state pensions and why should we receive winter fuel allowance!
#EqualityPayLaws: commission says #employees should have the right to know what people are being paid, who do the same job. In the previous @BBCNews broadcast, I believe I heard this previously was the case until 2014?!

Never mind remote pensioners. Everyone needs a phone line that works when the power is down. Who thought trashing it was a good idea? Maybe the same lanyards that thought trashing the M-way hard shoulder was a genius idea.

Many older people know nothing about this. 79 year old friend didn't understand why her phone stopped working. Fortunately she still had her new broadband router in a box in the spare bedroom
