Don’t think any current players have been active on here for a few years now, even to the extent of PR people looking after twitter accounts, that just doesn’t happen on this platform anymore and hasn’t for years.

A great read. I’m really proud of Abiola for this one and would encourage every football fan to take the time to read it. A really informative piece about the state of the men’s and women’s game in the UK.
“Seventeen clubs across the EFL and National League would still be loss-making even if their players played for free.”
💬 Abiola Sholagbade reflects on Independent Football Regulator’s (IFR) State of the Game report.

Erica Meg Parkinson is the youngest England debutant under Sarina Wiegman - not the youngest of all time. Karen Carney still holds that record (17 years and 200 days).

Paul Green returned to Stamford Bridge this week….but it wasn’t for Chelsea, it was for Leaders conference.
He shared some thoughts on going from WSL to NWSL, English player pathway challenges, and the Bay FC project.

In August, I broke the story that the Women's Football Show was not going to be returning for the 26/27 season. More detail on why:
- An average of 217,000 viewers watched the show in 2025-26 on the BBC, a 35% decline compared to 2023-24 and a 17% decline on 2024-25. 1/3

Are Arsenal nasty enough to win a WSL title? They increasingly feel like a team full of nice people, good eggs and "supportive" teammates but when was the last time you remember any 'housery' from them? Here are a few thoughts... #ArsenalWFC #barclaysWSL

HALF-TIME
All square here in Beaconsfield. A few chances for us towards the end of the half but nothing to break down the Town defence so a rare goalless half-time for us.

By leaving out two of England's biggest-name, double Euros winners from her squad yesterday, Sarina Wiegman sent an unequivocal message to every #Lionesses player.

Ladies and gents, all hail Carrington once again. This time though, the women’s.
A first United start for Mared Griffiths last night and she certainly wasn’t going to let the opportunity pass her by.
One goal would’ve been a nice way to announce herself. She went one better. Well, two actually. A hat-trick on her first start, with three very different finishes to cap off an outstanding full debut.
The first, a composed finish. The second, a proper striker’s finish. And then she completed the hat-trick with a top-bins finish.
But honestly, what’s even more exciting is what this could mean for the women’s academy.
The talent has always been there. We’ve known that. What’s been missing is the trust. The willingness to actually throw these girls into the deep end and let them show what they can do.
Eva Olid seems more than willing to do exactly that, which is why I was delighted with her appointment.
And if Mared Griffiths is anything to go by, the future is very exciting for her and the other academy ladies because Carrington is fully loaded.

Those at Hearts tell stories about Eva Olid: how her HC application used team footage no one knew how she got. Her tactics, her details + yes, the adaptations to win. “Man Utd are in transition. There’s no better person than Eva to lead.” @TheAthleticFC

It's a no from me on stand-alone county cups. Many lack competition outside 3-4 teams, and it always seems to be the same names unless they reach WSL2 or opt out in T3.
More mixed county competitions 🙏 with T6 and lower remaining in their own county in a Trophy/Plate comp.
Whilst on this subject of the Capital Cup what do teams from @LondonFA @middxfa and @surreyfa feel about the fact they cannot be champions of their own county?
Every other county has separate competitions but your 3 are mixed. Surely now is the time for you to stand alone? Maybe a senior Capital Cup played midweek?
