Four #Commanders made @TheAthleticNFL's 50-player trade deadline big board, and @danielrpopper didn't hold back.
"It is time for GM Adam Peters to sell and salvage what he can from this roster."
Washington's names:
• No. 13 Daron Payne: final year of his deal, tied for the team lead with 17 pressures
• No. 18 Amik Robertson: top corner on the board, no fully guaranteed money in 2027
• No. 27 K'Lavon Chaisson: on a one-year deal, also 17 pressures
• No. 46 Dorance Armstrong: final year, 10 pressures coming back from a torn ACL
Payne, Chaisson and Armstrong are all in the last year of their contracts and hit free agency after this season. Robertson is the only one signed through 2027.
Trading those three only gives up the rest of this season. Trading Robertson gives up next year too.

#Commanders HC Dan Quinn and @LoganPaulsenNFL went to the 49ers tape for three Sonny plays: a square tackle in space, a third-down breakup on Mike Evans that had DQ comparing his range to Fred Warner's, and Sonny dropping into coverage on Brandin Cooks.
Six games in, the No. 7 pick has an interception, four passes defended, a sack and a forced fumble.

Is Jayden Daniels the problem for the 1-4-1 #Commanders? Beltway Football's JP Finlay and Mitch Tischler aren't buying it.
JP opened by saying anyone who thinks Jayden has been the problem is "insane," and pushed back on the screen-grab takes about his fourth-down throws in San Francisco. Then Mitch took it further. Coming off a Monday night where JD5 threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers against a good Niners defense, he called the national narrative around him wild. He pointed out the talent around Jayden is a step below what the other QBs in his draft class have, and the O-line has only gotten worse as the season has gone on. "Teams are figuring out, hey, we just blitz these guys and they are SOL."
My two cents: I'm with them. JD5 has been sacked nine times in two games since coming back, and he still hasn't thrown a pick this season. The quarterback isn't what's sinking this team.
That said, not all of it is on the help. Even under pressure, you can't throw it away on fourth down, and in Year 3, the situational stuff has to get cleaned up no matter who's blocking. Jayden knows that, and I am confident that he will clean it up.

11 years ago today, Kirk Cousins let everyone know exactly how he felt.
Washington trailed the Bucs 24-0 in the second quarter. Then came 31 of the next 37 points, capped by a 6-yard TD to Jordan Reed with under 30 seconds left and the Dustin Hopkins extra point for a 31-30 win.
Still the largest comeback in franchise history.

The #Commanders are on a Week 7 bye for the first time since 2004.
Last time it happened:
• Joe Gibbs was back on the sideline
• Sean Taylor and Chris Cooley were rookies
• Mark Brunell was under center
• JD5 was 3 years old
That team went into the bye 2-4. This one sits at 1-4-1 (that tie still pisses me off).

• 63.8 passer rating allowed

He signed late in the summer on a one-year, $1.8M deal.
He's 31, and that deal is up after the season. A good corner on a cheap deal is exactly what this roster needs more of. The question is how long you pay for it.
