ALT A single, vivid orange poppy in full bloom, photographed from the front against a dark, softly blurred background. Its delicate, crumpled, almost translucent petals display intricate folds and irregular, ruffled edges, ranging from pale peach and salmon-orange to deep coral. At the centre, a pale green, star-shaped stigma sits within a dense circle of dark reddish-brown stamens. A slender, slightly curved green stem supports the flower, while broad, softly focused green leaves provide a contrasting backdrop. The dramatic lighting brings out the delicate texture of the petals and makes the warm orange tones glow against the surrounding darkness.
