Bill Maher: “You’re a Democrat running possibly for [President in 2028], and you’re Jewish. And this is somehow maybe a complete deal breaker in the Democratic Party. I mean, the speed at which antisemitism has gone to a place where I never imagined it would go.”
“Just this past week, bombings at synagogues in Toronto, Belgium, and Michigan. The guy drove a truck with explosives into the largest synagogue in West Bloomfield, Norway. They arrested someone. Suspicious behavior outside of the synagogue in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.”
“I see a pattern here. And somehow it got to where among the young people, antisemitism got to be kind of cool.”
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro: “There are seeds of antisemitism being planted all over this country… Folks are looking the other way and nodding toward it and allowing it to happen in their businesses, on their screens, and in their politics, and we have to speak up about it.”

All I can safely say at this time is that I love seeing Iranian women shedding tears of happiness.

What’s unfolding in Iran may be the most consequential and underreported story in the world. Free elections there won’t just be a human rights victory. The fall of the Ayatollahs will release tens of millions of people, who come from one of the most creative civilizations in history. Iranian culture has shaped art, science and innovation for centuries. Suppressing it hurts not just Iranians, but humanity as a whole.

🚨 Jews make up just 0.2% of humanity.
And half of us live in a country smaller than Maricopa County, Arizona.
So when mobs scream to “wipe it off the map” or “from the river to the sea” that’s not politics. That’s a call for extinction.
Remember that.

We have appended an Editors' Note to a story about Mohammed Zakaria al-Mutawaq, a child in Gaza who was diagnosed with severe malnutrition. After publication, The Times learned that he also had pre-existing health problems. Read more below.

ALT Children in Gaza are malnourished and starving, as New York Times reporters and others have documented. We recently ran a story about Gaza’s most vulnerable civilians, including Mohammed Zakaria al-Mutawaq, who is about 18 months old and suffers from severe malnutrition. We have since learned new information, including from the hospital that treated him and his medical records, and have updated our story to add context about his pre-existing health problems. This additional detail gives readers a greater understanding of his situation. Our reporters and photographers continue to report from Gaza, bravely, sensitively, and at personal risk, so that readers can see firsthand the consequences of the war.

Yes, the rockets were heavy this morning in #TelAviv, but hopefully this war will come to an end soon now. There is this option, and I will stick to it for now. Not only TLV – the whole region could be so beautiful. Strong nerves: stop and go – buses are already back in service.

While scholars are once again preoccupied with the #IHRA and #JDA definitions - and, along with them, with debates about anti-Zionism, anti-Israelism, and/or #antisemitism - it is worthwhile to take a step back in history, namely to the year 1948. (1/5)

This happened after civilians saw Hamas members looting the flour and went to confront them.

A poster was spotted today at Humboldt University in Berlin — Yaron Lischinsky’s photo, a red triangle over his face, and the words “Make Zionists Afraid Again.”
Yaron was murdered in D.C. And now his face is being used to glorify that murder — on a university campus, in Germany.
I’ve been working tirelessly with students and organizations here to fight extremism and antisemitism. And yet this is what shows up on campus walls.

The families of the German-Israeli hostages still held in Gaza are desperate. Talks with German officials were warm but led nowhere. They asked what to do. Public pressure is the only way left – and I agree.
