That’s what happens when you fight somebody you respect.
You don’t hold anything back.
You don’t give ’em an easy way out.
You give ‘em everything you’ve got and you make ’em prove they deserve to walk away.
Eventually, Claudio couldn’t.
That’s not something I’m happy about.

So there wasn’t any mystery last Wednesday.
No bullshit.
No games.
Just two guys who know each other too well trying to find out who was willing to go one inch further.
Claudio hit me with everything and I kept going.

Claudio earned it but I meant what I said.
The last twenty years were yours.
The next twenty are mine.
And if losing to somebody I respect this much is what it takes to figure out what I’m still missing, then fine.
I’ll take the loss.
I’ll take the lesson.
But I’ll keep going.

#AEWRedemption wasn’t about happy endings.
It was about finding out who really meant what they said.
Loyalty sounds real easy when nobody’s asking anything from you. Then the pressure shows up, and all of a sudden people start remembering they’ve got a conscience.
Nah, not me.

If the road is easy, you're likely going the wrong way.

’Cause sooner or later in this thing, me and Claudio gotta go head-to-head… and one of us is walkin’ out with a point the other man damn sure didn’t wanna give up.
