obsessed with creating and playing infinite games with infinite players. (dm me!) think AI might be a bestie in this endeavor (h/t to ryo and his tweet)

This is all truly incredible. As we continue to give vast majority of mindshare to how AI will super charge human entrepreneurs, zero human companies etc, we fail to think enough of the fact that producers cannot subsist without people with the wherewithal to consume. Would love to see similar passion and creativity applied to this question. This doesn’t have to happen through the current mechanism of Jobs as we currently know them >> income; and yes these convos are happening but don’t resonate much with their tenor that the elites are doing us a favor via UBI. It is much more the dynamic of: the Anthropics, etc, the most formidable successful companies of our time, building their products on top of the edifice of knowledge and creativity we have all collectively produced. This surplus belongs to no ONE. And no, I am NOT arguing for agency/accountability deadening collectivism. But I am praying for the evolution of capitalism - the will to free the creative human spirit in service to the whole.
Stop what you’re doing and spend 80 seconds understanding this Not because you’re training LLMs. Because Karpathy just showed the cleanest example of the agent loop that’s about to eat everything: 1.Human writes a strategy doc 2.Agent executes experiments autonomously 3.Clear metric decides what stays and what gets tossed 4.Repeat 100x overnight The person who figures out how to apply this pattern to business problems…not just ML research, is going to build something massive. The code is almost irrelevant. The architecture and mindset is everything

In June, @SamAsante and I launched Typeahead, the first product from our new company. Today we're releasing our next Mac app. It's called Beam, and we're live on Product Hunt. I've got Macs all over my house doing different work. Some run agents and local models. Others handle builds. When I want to use one app on another Mac, I usually end up navigating a whole second desktop through Screen Sharing. Beam brings that app's window onto the Mac I'm using. It gets its own Dock icon and shows up in ⌘Tab. I can type into it and resize it while everything keeps running on the other Mac. Sam has put a lot of care into making this feel natural. The video shows it better than I can explain it. Live on Product Hunt → producthunt.com/products/bea…

Today we announce 1Password for Agents platform, building with companies @Muse, SpaceX Super Intelligence Grok @Bot, @AnthropicAI’s @Claudeai, @OpenAI, @TownAI, @Browserbase, @Browser_use, @heydana_ai, Instinct, @usekernel, @Perplexity_ai, @tryramp, @Tomo, and @wajo_ai, with more integrations on the way. 🎉 We've heard from so many of our customers who want to use these new personal AI agents to help them get more done, but want more control over what the agent can access with the same trust and ease of use they get when using 1Password directly. 1Password for Agents gives your agents access without giving up your passwords. When an agent reaches a sign-in form, it requests a credential from your vault. If you approve the request, 1Password directly auto-fills the credential in the destination site so the agent can’t see or take possession of the credentials. The agent gets the task done, but it doesn’t get your passwords.. You stay in control. 1Password for Agents free and optional for personal and family accounts. Unless you opt-in to an agent connector, agents cannot touch your vault. ➡️Learn more: bit.ly/487da6J

Be careful out there, there are some very scary phishing attempts going around. You can no longer tell if an email is valid based on that little checkmark in Gmail! I first saw something like this from OpenAI that I posted about a few weeks ago, now it’s XAI.

But the most important thing about Studio isn’t any individual feature. We believe your tools should work for you, not the company that built them (including us!) So Studio is built to remain under your control: • end-to-end encrypted • run it locally anytime • no lock-in • open source under FSL • switch AI providers • export your work and take it with you

Bad news for Midjourney, Tatiana Tsiguleva recently made her profile public and just to show my gratitude and support I made some stamps with her amazing work. Wish a great Friday to @ciguleva, hope this puts a smile on your face! 🖤

Such a cool gift - OSS ftw
For years, maybe a decade, I've wanted to build a writing tool that just did a few things I couldn't find anywhere else. A system that mimicked how I think when I write. A system that provided clear affordances, features, and places to do the things I wanted to do. A way to play with my writing as I'm writing it. A way to settle into just the right way to say something. It never made sense to make it a 37signals product because it's not commercially viable, nor would it be worth pulling people off their other work to hack on this. Plus, it would have taken months the old way. So this weekend I just made it myself, with Claude's help. It's called Write_On and the short video walks you through it. Essentially it's "alternative control" at the word, sentence, and paragraph level, plus a way to dim stuff back, and stash stuff near by. Not version control, but alternative control. You'll see what I mean when you watch the video below. So here it is. Write_On.

"The arc is innocence → magic → choice → play → mastery → joy. Honestly it edits itself." says my @Muse the AI-isms have a certain charm don't they :)

yes, Muse has some special X factor. yes, I'm changing my avatar and yes it's quite whimsical. it's the little things here - but also, not letting down my guard when it comes to data. @finkd when confidential VM

Really really interesting thread to pull on here

I don't know though! Creative work is about process, if the process is asking something else, is it really creative after that?

Thinking about the difference between finite and infinite games
Replying to @elie2222
The first few times you see the videos, is when the human effort/discovery aspect is still there - wow someone figured out how to do this with AI! cool! The next hundred videos in that vein feel like AI slop bc that human effort is now perceived as reduced to little more than mimicking, but with the extra baggage of using AI to mimic which is the ultimate in uninspired Non AI slop videos I think will have to somehow carry a compelling idea that is more than “look what [model] can do” And I think compelling ideas is different from mere AI generated stories; latter is glut of supply and often is driven by “look what ai can do”

a chrome extension to engage with X as your creative playground: github.com/ashemag/X-playgro… my mission in being on X is not to argue with hateful people... it is to show up and create and give folks value and authentically connect from that place (I have it on the most conservative settings, you can ask an LLM to loosen. DM/email me on questions)

Gorgeous cloud, gorgeous thought
There is so much beauty to notice in every day life. Spotted this absolute unit of a cloud on the way back from the gym and stopped to stare in awe. What have you noticed lately?

“to ask whether the thing being accelerated should exist at all” Going through and following everyone who gave ❤️ in their reply/re share
efficiency, productivity, speed we keep worshipping these words like they are what we live for ship faster merge more manage more agents compress every loop remove every pause turn every hour into output but what is the point of endless production if there is no time left to think deeply? not react not optimize not summarize not clear the queue think to sit with a question long enough that your real intention starts to appear to find the purpose underneath the motion to ask whether the thing being accelerated should exist at all ai could be a new canvas a way to make strange things personal things impossible things tools, worlds, poems, games, interfaces, films, languages, rituals things that let more people touch the shape of their own imagination but instead, so much of it is becoming slop factories more content more funnels more tickets more fake work pretending to be value you can merge 2000 prs you can manage 500 agents you can wake up to dashboards proving that the machine kept moving while you slept but what is the point if you only sleep 5 hours a day? what is the point if you stop talking to other humans? stop learning about the past? stop playing? stop wandering? stop being surprised? what is the point if your whole life becomes optimizing the system that is consuming you? speed is not meaning scale is not wisdom automation is not freedom if it only makes everyone run faster and where are we running? toward what? a world where every person becomes a manager of machines, and every machine produces more things no one had the time to truly want? the danger is not that ai makes us lazy the danger is that ai makes us endlessly busy that it gives us infinite production before we have found intention infinite execution before we have developed taste infinite motion before we have learned how to be still maybe the real frontier is not more speed maybe it is discernment knowing what not to make knowing when to stop knowing when the most productive thing is to sleep, read history, call a friend, play with a cat, walk without tracking it, or stare at the ceiling until the false urgency dissolves tools should give us more life not turn life into a tool if ai is going to matter, it should not just help us produce more it should help us become more human more imaginative more free otherwise, it’s the same old factory just without humans
