NATO will be sending additional assets to the region, including support for surveillance, reconnaissance, and forensics. We will continue to stand united and ensure that we are ready and able to address any threat and to keep our one billion people safe

🇪🇸🇪🇪 A medal ceremony was held at Ämari Air Base to recognise the contribution of Spanish Air Force personnel to NATO’s air defence mission and the defence of Estonian airspace. ¡Gracias!
Over the past month, the Spanish detachment has contributed to NATO’s air defence mission. It was an excellent opportunity to conduct multinational training missions alongside our Allies, as the Turkish Air Force has been guarding our skies since August.
The Spanish detachment’s activities at Ämari have included nearly 200 flying hours, rapid-response sorties to identify and respond to potential airborne threats, as well as live-fire training against drone threats.
The combined contribution of our Spanish and Turkish Allies at Ämari is a clear demonstration of NATO’s unity and its continued commitment to defending Allied airspace.
The Turkish mission at Ämari, guarding our Baltic skies, will continue until December.
