Let’s talk about Kirill Dmitriev. Who is he, and why the hell is Putin’s sanctioned envoy being welcomed into the White House? It’s not for peace talks. Dmitriev isn’t a career diplomat. He’s a former Goldman Sachs banker who has run Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, the Russian Direct Investment Fund, since 2011. He is a close Putin associate and was appointed Putin’s special presidential envoy for international investment and economic cooperation in 2025. The US Treasury sanctioned him and his investment fund in February 2022, explicitly identifying him as a close Putin ally and describing the fund as an instrument of Putin’s inner circle. He’s been building financial relationships with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and China. He’s also been a recurring back-channel contact with Trump’s inner circle. In 2017, he sought access to Trump’s incoming administration. His reconciliation proposal reached Jared Kushner through intermediaries. He also met Erik Prince in the Seychelles. This is documented in the Mueller investigation. In 2020, reporting revealed that Kushner maintained a private communications channel with Dmitriev. They discussed investment opportunities, international negotiations and even the Russian-funded ventilator shipment to New York. In 2025 and 2026, Dmitriev became a central figure in Trump’s negotiations with Putin over Ukraine. He’s also been pushing for sanctions relief for Russia’s investment fund. And now he’s back in Washington, welcomed into the White House, where Trump met with him privately. There’s another part of this story that deserves scrutiny. The White House is giving Melania Trump considerable credit for the Oleshky ceasefire. But Pope Leo had already been working on this humanitarian crisis. He personally called Putin on October 16 to request a ceasefire, humanitarian assistance and safe evacuation. He spoke with Zelenskyy three days later. Cardinal Zuppi had been pressing the issue for weeks. The Vatican’s diplomatic intervention is documented. The precise extent of Melania’s subsequent negotiating role has not been independently explained. And somehow, the central figure at the White House celebration is Putin’s sanctioned economic and diplomatic envoy. Why is he here? What is he negotiating? What is he offering? What is Putin expecting in return? And why is the American president privately meeting with Putin’s representative while Ukrainian officials are left out? This man isn’t here simply to celebrate a humanitarian evacuation. He’s here representing Putin’s economic and political interests. Americans deserve to know what is being negotiated in our name.

Not true. Hegseth gets his clothes from a company called Book a Tailor, which he confirmed in a Fox News segment. I suspect he got his clothes for free in exchange for this mention on Fox News. The company owner confirmed in an interview that their suits are made in Thailand. In the time he since promoted this company, three US suit factories have faced closure. Instead of promoting US-made clothing, Hegseth promoted cheap imports that undercut US manufacturers. You only think they're made in the US because the clothes are plastered with US flags. This is because you are more easily impressed by spectacle than substance, which is why this administration is so exciting for you.

[cont…] For anyone who has worked with MAGA and Trump to obtain no-bid government contracts, presidential pardons, special tariff exemptions, and other regulatory and policy favors, don’t compound your problems by trying to cover it up. You may call it a "revised document retention policy”; we just call it obstruction and evidence tampering. So does the U.S. Criminal Code.

FLASHBACK: Asked whether he’d “support or oppose a preemptive strike by Israel on Iran,” Vance says: “It is up to Israel what they think they need to do to keep their country safe, and we should support our allies wherever they are when they’re fighting the bad guys.” Oct 2024:
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

“It is very telling that all of this is happening on the day of the U.S. congressional elections. The Russians believe that America will not notice this signal from them.”
The Russians carried out a complex, massive attack overnight, aimed primarily at our critical infrastructure. And the main target was energy – power generation facilities and substations – in the Odesa, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv, and Rivne regions. In many cities and communities, emergency and unscheduled power outages are ongoing. In Kharkiv, the Russians directly struck a city clinical hospital. Seventy-three people were injured, and the cardiology department, where people were receiving treatment, was damaged. A rescue operation has also been underway since yesterday in Komyshuvakha, in the Zaporizhzhia region. Tragically, the death toll has risen. Russia has killed 29 people. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Five people were injured. There are still people under the rubble. Rescue operations continue as far as the security situation allows – there is a threat of Russian double-tap strikes, as they always so wickedly do. Overnight alone, the Russians launched 289 attack drones, 17 ballistic missiles, and 59 cruise missiles. And even now, the air raid alert continues, and there is a threat of new Russian missile and drone attacks. It is very telling that all of this is happening on the day of the U.S. congressional elections. The Russians believe that America will not notice this signal from them. But such terror must be noticed and stopped. Ukraine must be helped to defend its skies, otherwise Russia will never stop its missile strikes. It is essential to help build peace honestly and reliably, and America can do that. Thank you to everyone who will not remain silent about this Russian attack. Thank you to everyone who supports the defense of Ukraine.

Ten Tu-95 bombers are loaded in western Russia and at least five Tu-160s are flying west from the Far East. Ukraine's air threat monitoring channels expect them at their launch lines around 03:00, with ballistic missiles possible from Bryansk, Kursk or Voronezh at any moment. So tonight Kyivans are carrying tents, sleeping bags and mats down the escalators. They are not evacuating. They are going to bed. For many this is routine now, on the nights a big strike looks likely. 🎥 Novyny LIVE, Fakty ICTV

Good morning, Ohio. Here's your reminder that Vivek Ramaswamy is a billionaire scam artist who flew his private jet to Paris on America's 250th birthday, while @amyactonoh celebrated in Marietta — our first settlement. Here's your reminder that he protects, platforms, and campaigns with sexual abusers. That he scammed Ohio families and left them hopeless. That he called Medicare and Medicaid "mistakes" and wants to dismantle them. That he called Ohioans lazy, mediocre, and "envious" of his wealth. In 2 days, he's going to find out that he can't use his billions to buy Ohio.

THREAD: As you vote on Tuesday. Remember, Trump did the most damage AFTER he lost the 2020 election. On November 9th he fired Mark Esper (he's doing it again now) and installed Chris Miller and Kash Patel in the DOD to deny the National Guard 14 times on January 6. I'm thinking Esper refused. 1. Trump Jr. went hunting with a Kremlin-linked oligarch who helped pay for his wedding. According to the Financial Times, the oligarch was Umar Kremlev, a russian businessman with ties to Putin’s security circle. He flew to Mongolia from Kazakhstan on a charter jet, accompanied by a business partner linked to a US-sanctioned investment fund. The two reportedly avoided being photographed together. Trump Jr. shot a rare Altai argali sheep and later dined with Mongolia’s president. Meanwhile, the US Embassy spent $18,715 on hotel rooms for Secret Service agents protecting him. His spokesperson calls Kremlev a personal friend. Why is the Trump family so closely connected to people in Putin’s orbit?
