HBCU students marching in support of Talarico…but I was told it wouldn’t happen!

It’s been my mission to mobilize Black voters, so I hear you. But for decades the GOP has used racial fears & anti-Black messaging to get even the most politically apathetic white person off their couch. Black people want resources & systemic change. You tell me which is easier🤷🏾‍♂️

Right, so instead of turning black people who don't vote into voters who vote Democrat, they allow those marginal gains to be made for Republicans 1-3% points at a time, in EVERY community and then wonder how Republicans (even ones not named D. trump) keep winning.

So which is it 🤔🤔🤔 Glad to FINALLY see some of the bunk narratives getting some push back…
NYT: El-Sayed Needs Black Voters in Michigan. Tensions With Arab Americans Make That Harder. Conflict between Michigan’s Black and Arab communities could get in the way of Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s pitch in the critical Senate race. nytimes.com/2026/10/24/us/po…

Detroit’s Angelita Jones and Vickie Marshall say they don’t believe the narrative that older Black voters aren’t supporting Abdul El-Sayed. “We’re excited… He’s for the people and we need a change.”

Detroit voter Nancy tells me she sees a generational divide among younger Black voters who are excited to vote for Abdul El-Sayed and older Black voters who are skeptical. She says the amount of older Black folks at today’s rally is encouraging.

El-Sayed supporter Miranda Turner says she’s not worried about Black voters not supporting Abdul. “If you know Black voters, they typically vote with what aligns with their best interests.”

This is absolutely the case for unlikely WHITE voters! However, data suggests that only a small percentage of Black people who actually vote do so for Trump & there’s a rather large pool of Black people who may profess their support for Trump but it never turns into any action.
The right simply beat the left to realizing you CAN turn out "unlikely voters" if you give them something to vote for and so instead of offering jobs health care and better schools they let trump come in and say"we'll let you best people up & say retard" and that was enough 4many

But do they VOTE? Data suggests that low-information Black voters (w/less educ) are the least likely to vote: 2024 data shows that Black people who supported Trump before the election we’re less likely have voted in 2020, or EVER. So while they may be loud, do they actually vote?
Former Democrats Michelle Nard and Cynthia Haynes of Flint talk about how they became Republicans: “I could always see my mother saying, ‘Always vote blue.’ Blue not doing us right. Blue definitely didn’t do Flint right. We’re still dealing with poisoned water.”

Oh, right…just like all the hysterical voices swore said they would come after voting rights…oh wait.
When Dobbs came down in 2022, a lot of hysterical left-liberal voices swore that "they're coming after Griswold and Obergefell next", and got very mad at me for saying they weren't. Well, where are the challenges to Obergefell and Griswold, 4 years later?

Hmmm…wonder why the Trump Admin is attacking Rep. Lucas 🤔🤔🤔 And, remember, the Trump appointed SCOTUS gave him power to use the government to target his enemies with immunity. Don’t ever think your vote doesn’t matter.
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia state Sen. L. Louise Lucas is charged with drug trafficking and money laundering, the Justice Department says.

The (lost) Wages of Whiteness
White Americans really chose 100k student loan debt over free college with Black students lmao

I’m pretty sure a majority can exercise their power through subpoenas, budgets, and blocking SCOTUS judges…not to mention this process we call impeachment 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️
I think it’s all but guaranteed that Democrats sweep the House of Reps and Senate, but also that they do next to nothing of real substance with those majorities. Going to be a lot of statements and strongly worded letters with maybe a handful of very minor legislative efforts.

“It's time now for you & me to become more politically mature & realize what the ballot is for; what we're supposed to get…& that if we don't cast a ballot, it's going to end up in a situation where we're going to have to cast a bullet. It's either a ballot or a bullet.” 🤔🤔🤔

Research we (@black_insights) did with @TargetSmart in 2022 & again on our own in 2024 found that racial threat significantly motivates Black people to vote - and, unsurprisingly, the threat of voter suppression was one *type* of threat that made a real difference in turnout.
I'm working on some more detail on this, but one early vote trend that is jumping out to me right now: big increases in turnout from young Black voters, with the most eye-popping numbers in southern states that gerrymandered this year, both pre and post Callais.

I’m hoping for the best but these races will depend on turning out low-propensity (unlikely) Black voters and, as we saw in 2024, this is no easy task that takes (at a minimum) months of engagement & real investment (rather than dumping whatever $$ they can pull together in Oct).
Talarico will lose, and El-Sayed will have an uphill battle. People will reply with "2024" and "Florida" as if that invalidates my analysis. Talarico isn't resonating with Black or disillusioned Republican voters, and El-Sayed has a problem with Black and Jewish voters.

Mississippi has no early voting. Their early voting bills died in committee again this February. Texas got 12 days of it. If you got access they're trying to take from somebody else, use it.
