Fun with applying easing functions on polar Ɵ. (Ignore the polar graph changes beneath, that was from previous video on easing R instead of Ɵ.)
It's also interesting that the points aren't "moving" per se but "phase-shifting in Ɵ". You can see what I mean if you follow any given dot/cluster and see that it always comes back to the same place. You can see it better with fewer bigger points, color-coded:

RIP to the great Walter Koenig, who brilliantly played Psi Cop Bester on all five seasons of Babylon 5. A frightening performance by a wonderful man.

Storyteller is getting a HUGE update for Steam on November 17 We spent two years working adding pirates, frankenstein, hansel & gretel, a genie and a dragon. But we also did something reckless: we revised the whole game, start to finish. store.steampowered.com/news/…

Devastating news today. Richard “Levelord” Gray was such a great guy. Like many of our friends, I wish I could have hung out with him again. He was full of life, a gentle soul, and an excellent level designer. He was called “Levelord” for a reason. I loved the first episode of DN3D but was more drawn in by E2 and E3 that had such distinctive designs. We’re gonna miss you, man. You were one of the best.

@TheLevelord You're supposed to be here. Lost one of the greatest people I've ever known today. Richard made a huge personal impact on the careers of thousands while crafting experiences that tens of millions explored. 1/3

Here is a discussion with @erin_catto! We talk about his foundational open source Box2D (Box3D was not yet announced!!) - what makes for a great physics engine, how API should look like, and stacking boxes! Later we talk about Legends of California - an upcoming game which uses Box3D and has advanced physically simulated mechanics in store! Erin thank you so much! youtu.be/DQNqo2xtq6U

Playing around on my new C64 Ultimate yesterday and got re-obsessed with an old idea. I REALLY want a pocket C64. It can't just be a screen + a joystick. It needs a full PETSCII keyboard, so pocket programming is possible. So I whipped up something crazy. #c64 #RetroGaming #8bit

Now that Box3D is out can't wait for a new wave of "vibe coded physics demos" demonstrating how you can easily "create" a 3D physics engine with "AI" :)

I’m happy to announce the release of a new open source 3D physics engine called Box3D. I’ve been working on this project for a few years now, but it represents over 20 years of experience writing physics engines for games. Read more here: box2d.org/posts/2026/06/anno…

New recording and replay feature added to Box2D. Uses determinism to exactly reproduce the simulation from your game. Debug your game with all details including ray casts and other queries. Deterministic rollback too. box2d.org/posts/2026/06/repl…
