That's one story from 12 months of transaction data across 15 African markets and 1.9 million payments.
Tomorrow, we show you what it costs to get African payments wrong and what changes when you get it right.
66 years ago, our founding fathers drew the blueprint for a nation that could stand on its own.
But a blueprint can't open a shop, ship an order, or write the code. People do.
To everyone building Nigeria today: thank you for keeping the promise alive.
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria 🕊️

Without Startbutton, you build local rails, get FX approval, wait for settlement. And then, rebuild for the next market.
It's like being stuck repeating the same thing in an argument.

Look beyond the payment infrastructure @paystack created, and you’ll see that the fintech giant also gave Africa bold, ambitious builders.
From Idorenyin Obong, who went from building at Paystack to founding @greyfinance , to Femi Aluko, who helped lead Paystack’s engineering before co-founding @chowdeck ; Douglas Kendyson, who went on to build @tryselar , to Mallick Bolakale, who now runs @StartbuttonHQ ; and Cossi Achille Arouko, who is building @BujetiHQ , Paystack’s alumni have gone on to build companies of their own and shape Africa’s digital economy. And they are only a few of the builders who came through Paystack.
