Going from my program directors in residency labeling me as unprofessional, rating my professionalism below my peers, and department faculty having meetings where they discussed my clothing and way of existing, to now being invited to be part of UCSF’s Clinical Educator Faculty Series (@ucsf @ucsfmedicine) while wearing glitter and being myself feels very *chef’s kiss*.
In this recently released video, I discuss minority stress: what it is, how it can impact minoritized people and their mental health, and how we can help people facing minority stress.
This is what we talk about with the kids, teens, and young adults I collaborate with in The Muses Program for Minoritized Youth. We use a strengths-based framework so the minoritized youth in our program know their diversity, individuality, and facets of identity are beautiful.🌙💖🐦🔥🦄🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🦸🏽♂️✊🏽
