Truth illuminates the path for those who are willing to hear it, and it burns those who reject it. It isn’t the truth-speaker’s job to decide others’ response.
Carry it and don’t snuff it out.

Thank you @CEOAdam for speaking out about AMC's commitment to the Kips Bay community. This theater is a beloved institution, and I know we can find a path forward to keep it in the neighborhood. It's time for @nyulangone to come to the table.
(One of Two)
An Open Letter to the Kips Bay Community About the Future of AMC Kips Bay 15 in New York City
“AMC Does Not Want to Go. We Want to Stay.”
——-/////——-/////——-
To the Kips Bay Community,
Since news first broke that our popular AMC Kips Bay 15-screen movie theatre located at 570 Second Avenue in Manhattan will soon be forced against our will to close its doors, I’ve been struck by the extraordinary support that this AMC theatre has received from within the local surrounding community.
So many moviegoers and neighbors, and importantly so many of your elected officials, have rallied around our theatre. (Given the central role that movie theatres play in the lives of so many New Yorkers, perhaps it is much better and more accurate to say that so many of you have rallied around YOUR theatre.)
On behalf of everyone at AMC, thank you. Your support means a great deal to us, and especially to our theatre team members at AMC Kips Bay 15 who work tirelessly day-in and day-out to put smiles on your faces.
In thinking about this theatre, which has been a cultural icon and entertainment lifeline to so many nearby residents for decades and decades since its opening on May 14 1999, I want to make one thing absolutely clear:
AMC Theatres does not want to go. Not one little bit. AMC Theatres wants to stay in Kips Bay.
Operating under long term leases, there was a time that the monies headed each month to the theatre’s landlord had risen to become so high that the theatre’s long-term viability was uncertain. But, we were fortunate to have been successful in addressing those concerns in recent years. Today this theatre (one which has been in continuous operation for more than twenty five years) has a bright future — if we would be allowed to keep it.
Indeed, every day, thousands of guests watch a movie at AMC Kips Bay 15. It has become so popular of late that on several days this past summer, AMC Kips Bay 15 was repeatedly among the ten most attended movie theatres across the entire United States, out of the more than 500 theatres operated by AMC nationally.
In that light, this is a theatre that should not be even close to a permanent shutting off of its lights.
Of course, AMC wants this AMC movie theatre to stay in place.
And remembering how much and how often Americans love watching movies in theatres, a tradition in Manhattan that dates back more than a full century, we have heard from so many of you that you too want us to stay open for your benefit.
Apparently, NYU Langone Health does not share that view, not ours or not yours.
Unfortunately, the decision to retain or end AMC’s tenure in Kips Bay is not ours to make. The nearby NYU Langone Health facility wants to expand, seems to be in the process of buying the building in which your (our) theatre now operates, and it wants us gone. In anticipation of such a transfer to NYU Langone, the current building’s owner has terminated our lease.
We have engaged with NYU Langone, suggesting any number of alternatives — including that it enlarge the current low-rise building to satisfy its desires for a growth of its medical facility but also leaving a theatre in place for you. Or alternatively, we offered that our theatre could get smaller, so that at the very least we could leave something remaining in place to continue to serve you. Sadly, any and all variations that we have proposed have fallen on closed minds.
We call on NYU Langone Health to open their minds, to think creatively, and come up with a solution that will give the Kips Bay community BOTH of the two things that is wanted most of all: expanded facilities offering the world class medical care that is the hallmark of NYU Langone Health AND a fully functional AMC Theatre on Second Avenue.
In Barcelona for work and El Classico is happening, so I walked by camp Nou. Crazy crowds and energy!
If I include you in my home, I fully expect you will honor my home, my family, and our culture and traditions. I won’t ask you to copy us, or to become us, but neither will I expect you to make demands on us.
I will not tolerate you coming into my home to disrespect me or my family, or worse, to cause destruction.
For me to tolerate that, would be a handover of my home to you and your whims, be they for good or for evil, and a failure on my part to love my family, and to hold healthy boundaries as a standard.
Inclusion and abject handover are not the same. One invites others into our space as additive. One pretends our space isn’t worthy of honor, respect, keeping, or even existing, as destructive.
Too few understand

The issue with people like the OP is they apply it selectively to one side of an equation and, thus, the equation is by definition rendered incorrect.
She wants the aggrieved to live by law, while the criminals…criminal
The “you can just do things” people like Bukele long ago realized, if you let people who can’t do societal math, tell you how to run society, the math will never math.
Tl:dr- we don’t have to accept broken ways
As they should- this is a violation of civil liberties, discrimination, and just plain gross
@ThornsFC @DOJCrimDiv
BREAKING: The US Department of Justice is reviewing the forceful ejection of fans wearing XX-XY t-shirts at Friday's Portland Thorns game.
"The Justice Department is aware of these reports and will review the matter thoroughly. Where the facts and the law warrant action, the Department will not hesitate to act."
A DOJ spokesperson also told me, "Based on what is known so far, the conduct described appears to raise viewpoint discrimination and First Amendment questions rather than sex discrimination. The Department is reviewing it."
So many in the entertainment industry mistake their wealth and ability to attract fans as identification of unique intelligence in completely unrelated fields.
Because they get paid for bringing in viewers of film, listeners of music, watchers of sport, or readers of books, they assume this means they understand politics, economics, culture, civics, science and morality.
This is a HUGE logical fallacy. So bad that it, ironically, defies logic.
Financial success for entertaining people creates a bubble, in which it is nigh impossible to rightly understand the lives the masses face.
Without realizing it, these celebrity activists overwhelmingly espouse policies, positions, and virtues which are damaging to those least able to opt out.
Normalize thanking entertainers for their gift to our lives, while politely ignoring- or at least critiquing- their ill informed, bubble-created views
Fascists silence people they disagree with. Often with violence.
For saying women are…well…women, this woman was expelled by force from a women’s sporting event and subjected to violence and mob behavior.
The “love wins” / “protect democracy” crowd is the biggest farce we’ve seen in many generations
They’re bigoted, uneducated bullies.
This is why I’m not being quiet to appease them. They’re misguided, evil, ignorant and do not have any moral or civic authority
Julie, a 57-year-old lesbian, was shoved down by a male @ThornsFC fan and tumbled over two rows of chairs. All for wearing an @xx_xyathletics shirt. He later apologized and said he didn’t know why he did it, he was just following the crowd. She has filed a police report.

1 Genetically enhanced dogs self organize and (fill in the blank) ensues
2 follow (macho name) as he and his highly specialized and supremely loyal war dog try to survive being stranded behind enemy lines. But who is the real enemy? Dun dun duuuuun
Warhound, a defense‑tech startup founded by Palmer Luckey and Ben Lamm, has raised $200 million in seed funding to genetically engineer war dogs for the U.S. military.
Lamm is responsible for the de-extinction of the dire wolf which died out ~10,000 years ago.
Warhound will find top dogs and then biobank their genetic material before cloning the proven dogs.
The company will take the cell lines for top breeds like Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd before editing the genes to make the dogs perform better and improve “things like speed and agility or enhance olfactory sensors for bomb sniffing and whatnot.”
Luckey’s Anduril will supply the dogs with advanced body armor, ear coverings, and other military technology like EagleEye, an artificial intelligence military helmet.
Anduril is also reportedly working with META on battlefield augmented reality eyewear.
Lamm says the genetically modified dogs with advanced equipment will not only make the dogs safer, but will also make the human handlers safer.
The first Warhound puppies will reportedly soon be cloned and incubated and will be born in early 2027 and then will begin training.
The land of the Magna Carta and of Amazing Grace is arresting kids for posting bunny filters
This is why I am telling Americans to stop worrying about being “nice”. Nice is a weapon that has been used to silence the masses into submission, until a police state arrests your kid for posting a bunny filter on a politician
