What do these COP "summits" achieve? 50,000 people will fly to Brazil. They're building a 4-lane road through rain-forest to get them there from airports!!! The bottom line is that change has to come from cosumers for any issue, whether climate or other. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9vy…

If over 2/3 of your intended audience lose 100 days of life every year, where’s the ‘healthy’ and ‘balanced’ in that? Type 1’s were bolted on to this hyperglycaemic, hyperinsulinaemic diet designed for people with functioning pancreases. We need a diet specific to our needs.

Snow! Tree lines and hedgrows provide shelter for livestock. If you have established woodland on your farm, it can make a great living barn, hay and silage can be fed inside it. Photo credit: Brett Chedzoy.

Delighted to have won the Net Zero Nature Award at the @HolyroodEvents Climate Action Awards for ‘Holistic Agroecology in Action’. It means a lot to us, naturally, but recognition that regenerative agriculture can deliver big net zero impacts is especially rewarding & meaningful

Ah the productivity paradox. The more efficient we become, the lower the cost of production and so the lower the market seeks a level. There is a future for large scale super efficient (at low cost, some who feel they are efficient are so at high cost!) and low cost base production but those in the middle need to have a serious plan for the future. Ours is to stop commodity production and focus on added value and supply chain control.

This is why nutrient density of food is key We need to produce not just food but nutrient dense food So many are overfed but undernourished @samdknowlton @PastureForLife @DrDuaneRD @DoctorChrisVT @SBakerMD @Groundswellaguk
🚨 Alarming new findings in @LancetGH: Over HALF the world lacks essential nutrients like iron, folate, and calcium. Our global study reveals the global burden of #HiddenHunger across ages and genders. We must act now to end this health crisis. thelancet.com/journals/langl…

Guy Martin at @RollsRoyce last night re. jet engines. The latter developing engines to use 'sustainable' vegetable oils. FGS where are they getting their advise? Veg oils are about food first & competitive with each other, for land & plant nutrients & rarely good for biodiversity

Insulin causes renal sodium and fluid retention putting blood pressure up We blame salt for what the sugar did!! Our paper pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3135…
For people with high blood pressure, consistently reducing carbs often lowers blood pressure to the point where medications can be reduced or even eliminated. Additionally, they increase their salt intake. However, some doctors continue to insist that salt intake is the problem.

I feel regenerative agriculture and lifestyle medicine have some shared goals Can we produce nutrient dense food that does not put blood sugar up in a sustainable way ?? Here I am speaking to an audience of farmers at the amazing @Groundswellaguk

Great to see growing recognition of the crucial role of regenerative grazing in healing degraded soil, increasing water & food security, restoring wildlife habitat, improving resilience to droughts & floods, rejuvenating rural economies, and sequestering carbon. @soil4climate

Healing degraded soil enables it to infiltrate rain much faster and store vastly more water, reducing the impact of higher temperatures, erratic precipitation, droughts, and floods. Soil restoration = climate resilience. nrdc.org/experts/lara-bryant… @soil4climate
A warming planet makes droughts more likely and more severe when they occur. Mexico is projected to be one of the worse hit countries when it comes to extreme heat and drought in the future. North of the border in the US the situation is also worsening thanks to climate change.

Sadly there is little to disagree with, educational systems are now too narrowly focused and seperated from Society's actual needs.

Now we are cranking Amazing how many people think endless short grazing is good grazing - it’s the exact opposite If you want deep roots, healthy soil, maximum nature, maximum photosynthesis and maximum soil health then you need the longest recoveries possible
