Not just Paris, this seems more widespread across other cities. Also cities like Milan in Italy bearing the brunt.

Not me. My bullish stand in India is paying off. And India‘s comeback is not so „quiet“ given that India is about to reach a deal with the US, has signed FTA with the EU, stabilized the relationship with China and is expanding ties with Russia. No other actor has managed that.

Good. Now go protest in Beijing against Xi and let us know it goes. I suspect we won’t hear from you for 14-20 years.
Shame on the government of India! Shame! I live in Beijing-an authoritarian country that feels freer than our great Indian democracy today.

Never liked his politics but always a fan of his movies. But here @ikamalhaasan stands tall by putting the nation first.
Mr. Musk, yes, no billionaire should dictate a nation’s policy - Indian or American. India must welcome competition in satellite internet, from Indian and global providers, whoever offers the most practical and affordable last-mile solution for those in remote regions. In countries with lower per-capita incomes, satellite internet must be affordable too. High subscription fees and equipment costs risk putting it beyond the reach of ordinary households. Connectivity must bridge the digital divide, not create a new one. India knows our networks and spectrum are strategic infrastructure, not merely commercial assets. India’s national security safeguards are non-negotiable. Every country makes choices based on its own interests. Those in the West cannot preach free markets while practicing protectionism at home. USA imposed 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs to protect its domestic industry, just as India takes measures to protect its own domestic manufacturers. Both India and the US have restricted Huawei over security concerns. One cannot demand a level playing field from others only when it suits its own agenda. Indians will internally debate, question and address our strengths and shortcomings as a democratic country. Take BharatNet, India’s programme to bring broadband to village-level local bodies. We will question why, as the CAG’s 2026 audit report found, the programme is struggling to meet its original objectives. Why were only 33.2% of service-ready Gram Panchayats operational, despite ₹39,888 crore being spent? At the same time, we know to appreciate our telecom sector and regulations, which has made internet data among the world’s most affordable, bringing millions online. India is a democracy, not a colony. We welcome the world, but we, the Indian people, will decide our own future - not Western vested interests, their double standards or any billionaire - Indian or American.

Wonder why we have more Mahindra, Tata, MG and even BYD and Vinfast EVs and Tesla is not even a conversation. Pushing your way and wading into the politics of the land isn’t a good idea.

Free market access isn’t a thing anywhere. Protecting local interests isn’t wrong.
Unfortunately, we are being blocked by certain oligarchs in order to maintain their monopolistic chokehold on the Indian people. You can guess who they are … This is a crime against the people of India!

Bilateral ODI cricket is already dead. The 2027 World Cup may stir some interest but the format is cooked. Kohli’s and Sachin’s records will be safe as this format is dying.

This conclusively settles the issue. 5 over games are anyway a lottery. Japan almost pulled off the impossible.
India's wide against Japan was reversed. Here's why...

Saw the worst of Bengaluru traffic yesterday, the city is unlivable. Missed appointments and cancelled meetings. For every thing, the weather is great isn’t an answer. Add, broken roads, pavements, mounds of unattended garbage. Truly a 4th world city.

I do hope professors across the IITs in India push back. While my sympathies are with the student and his family, you cannot go after someone for upholding the integrity of an exam. And then cry about brain drain.
Mumbai Police has booked Suryanarayan Dulla, an IIT Bombay faculty member, under multiple sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with a charge of abetment of suicide. thehindu.com/news/national/m…

Anyone in an expensive SUV would have hidden the logo :-)
Have to give it to Reuters. Fellow waited patiently till a man wearing shorts and riding a bike crossed the logo. And trust NYT to pick this one as the defining image of BRICS Summit. 🫡

How the government procurement is badly screwed up and substandard vendors snake their way in and deliver such cheap sofas and chairs.
