Well folks, itโs 72 trips around the sun for me today. This yearโs been pretty hard. Two joint replacements, the loss of my MIL and the loss of my darling Izzy. But still standing. Let the celebration begin ๐ฅ

My dad died Wednesday at 91. Itโs never long enough. In his final hours, we took him from the hospital back to memory care so they could be together. Two months shy of 67 years of marriage.

Iโm being admitted to the hospital again, and Iโm honestly in complete disbelief that this keeps happening. I went to the ER last night with severe stomach pain because I knew something was wrong with my tube. They did a CT scan without contrast, told me the balloon looked smaller but the tube appeared to be in place, and sent me home around 4 a.m. Hours later, I woke up with my shirt soaked in formula, my pain even worse, and the tube came completely out while I was changing the gauze.
How does this keep getting missed? I repeatedly tell the doctors when something is wrong, yet Iโm dismissed and sent homeโonly for the exact thing I feared to happen. Since UAB was on diversion, the ambulance took me to a different ER, and Iโm now being admitted to another hospital. Iโm exhausted, frustrated, and stunned by the lack of urgency and care Iโve received. Maybe this hospital will finally listen and help me because I cannot keep living through the same nightmare. Please keep me in your prayers. ๐ฉท

Bad Writing Tips #11- If you are writing in 3rdperson omniscient, donโt explain what people are thinking or at least leave out a lot of details. Let the reader create their own motivations for your characters, so they can see themselves within them. You donโt want to direct the reader, you want to create a stage and let the reader put their own players, with their own agenda, on it. Shallow characters with virtually no internal dialog and ambiguous motivation are probably for the best.
