On behalf of Canadians, I am grateful for your thoughtful words and recognition of their service.
Every loss of life is a tragedy. Canada has done so much to help us protect lives in Ukraine, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and all Canadians following the explosion and fire at the military base in Wainwright. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those lost, and we wish a swift recovery to the injured.

The sheer number of lies from President Trump about Canada β growing again today β is remarkable. Just some fact checks from the last 18 months:
- Trump falsely said today that Canada's unemployment rate is "10% and rapidly rising,β though it is 6.4% (under the Canadian method that adds about a percentage point) and has been declining for three months
- Trump falsely said today that Canada does 95% of its business with the US, though 72% of Canadian exports went to the US last year
- Trump falsely said today that high Canadian agricultural tariffs have caused the entire US trade deficit with Canada, though that deficit is overwhelmingly caused by US imports of cheap Canadian crude and though something like 97% of US ag exports to Canada are tariff-free
- Trump has falsely said Canada generally doesnβt βtakeβ US agricultural exports, though Canada is the worldβs second-biggest buyer of those exports
- Trump has falsely said the Canadian public likes the idea of becoming the 51st state, which the Canadian public overwhelmingly opposes
- Trump has falsely said Canada is one of the worldβs highest-tariff countries, though it is actually low in WTO global rankings
- Trump has falsely said Canada essentially doesn't have a military, though its military has fought with the US in multiple wars and its force size ranks in the upper half of NATO
- Trump has falsely said Canada hiked its dairy tariffs during the Biden administration, though they hadnβt changed since Trumpβs first presidency
- Trump has falsely said the US trade deficit with Canada is β$200 billion,β though it is nowhere close
- Trump has falsely said Canada prohibits US banks, though it doesn't and though more than a dozen US banks were operating in Canada at the time he spoke
- Trump has falsely said Canada is βconstantly surroundedβ by Chinese and Russian ships, though that is fiction
- Trump has falsely said then-outgoing PM Trudeau was using their trade battle to run again for prime minister, though Trudeau obviously wasnβt running

Was she in her seat talking politely to those next to her? Or was she disruptive and screaming for the entire plane.
We cannot have two standards and yes, I love Jesus with all my heart. But screaming on a plane is not permitted and its frightening to others to have disruptive passengers on board.
I don't know what she did but if she was disrupting others it goes beyond free speech and Jesus was clear on obeying the laws of our lands.
In confined places its frightening when others yell abd are boisterous regardless of the message or intent.

Wow! Great Relations bt Nations π³π³π³
North America's newest international bridge is finished.
The roads are painted.
The customs booths are staffed.
The lights are on.
But not a single car can use it.
The Gordie Howe International Bridge, a $6.4 billion (CAD) project connecting Michigan and Ontario, was built to ease congestion, lower shipping costs and speed up the movement of goods between the United States and Canada.
It carries enormous importance.
More than 25% of all trade between the two countries crosses at Detroit.
That means car parts.
Food.
Medical supplies.
Manufacturing equipment.
Products that eventually end up in supermarkets, dealerships and businesses across North America.
The bridge was supposed to make all of that faster and cheaper.
Instead, it sits empty.
Why?
Just before it was due to open, the Trump administration reportedly refused to issue the final federal approvals needed to connect it to Interstate 75.
Trump then demanded that Canada hand over a 50% ownership stake in the bridge, despite Canada paying for its construction under a long-standing international agreement.
Then another detail emerged.
Just weeks before the bridge was blocked, Matthew Moroun, whose family owns the aging Ambassador Bridge that currently dominates the crossing, donated $1 million to a pro-Trump Super PAC.
The new Gordie Howe Bridge was specifically designed to compete with that decades-old private monopoly.
Now the new bridge sits empty while the old bridge continues collecting tolls.
The administration insists its actions are about protecting American interests.
Others see something very different.
Because this isn't just about a bridge.
Every week it remains closed delays more efficient freight movement, adds costs to supply chains and creates more uncertainty for manufacturers already struggling with higher prices.
Those costs don't disappear.
They eventually reach businesses.
Then consumers.
Then your wallet.
The bridge is reportedly costing its operators around $7 million CAD every week in lost revenue while it sits unused.
It was built to move people and goods.
Instead, it has become another political bargaining chip.
And once again, ordinary people are left paying for Washington's games.
Reporter: The President threatened to block the new Gordie Howe Bridge, which would connect Detroit to Canada. This is a bridge that was fully paid for by Canada. It used American labor to construct it. It used American steel to construct that bridge. The president in 2017 was actually in favor of this bridge. Why has the president changed his mind as it relates to this bridge?Β
Leavitt: The fact that Canada will control what crosses the Gordie Howe Bridge and owns the land on both sides is unacceptable to the president. It's also unacceptable that more of this bridge isn't being built with more American made materials. The US should own half of the bridge.

1. Speaker Johnson, youβre obsessing about losing the House but donβt seem to realize itβs because you have no program for the country other than illegal disastrous tariffs, illegal disastrous war andΒ humiliating invertebrate submission to your unraveling cult master.
2. Youβre projecting onto us your own comically failed and obsessive investigations into President Biden, the Southern Poverty Law Center, James Comey, George Soros, etc.
3. We obviously must confront the debilitating corruption and authoritarianism you have enabled, but at the same time weβre going to move America forward on all the public goods you have thwarted, like the health care of the people, increasing the minimum wage and protecting our environment.
4. I agree that you βrun the protection programβ and βtake careβ of all MAGA violators!
Johnson: If we were to lose the midterms, heaven forbid, these Democrats, y'all impeachment's not even the big concern. They will turn every committee of Congress into an investigative body, and they'll go after the president's family, the The cabinet, his donors and friends, half of you in this room will be targeted. I run the protection program. Weβll take care of you.

More than 40 years ago, I arrived in Chicago in search of an idea. I was a young man looking for purpose, who believed deeply in America, was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement, and wanted to be a part of something larger. The America I believed in was one where everyone has opportunity, everyone is seen, everyone belongsβbecause that was an America that had a place for me, too.
