Replying to @CMHaughey
It’s the same playbook used throughout the public service. Ignore the conscientious messenger. Isolate the messenger. Discredit the messenger. Gang up on the messenger. Try to break the messenger. Humiliate the messenger. What was the message? This is #HowIrelandWorks

Family of Garda Horkan (RIP) have stated they have "no faith" in the ongoing internal investigation Alan Kelly accuses the two most recent Ministers for Justice—Helen McEntee and current minister Jim O'Callaghan—of treating Detective Superintendent Brian O'Reilly "like dirt" after he submitted protected disclosures. #GardaHorkan #Whistleblower #Dáil

The most harrowing of my disclosures to the Department of Justice was being sexually assaulted by an instructor a few weeks into basic training. I was 21. This was corroborated by 2 officers during a Garda investigation. This individual eventually became Acting Director General of @IrishPrisons & after a long & lucrative predatory career was made a parole board member. The DPP declined to prosecute William Connoly because that’s #HowIrelandWorks #WeWillNotBeSilenced

Portlaoise Prison drug trafficking. In 2022 @HMcEntee was Minister for Justice. I had transferred to Portlaoise maximum security prison in 2021 to get away from the non stop targeting I had been subjected to following matters which had been disclosed to The Department of Justice in 2018, deemed Protected Disclosures by the scoping investigation. I had a duty of care to protect staff under my supervision as well as prisoners. A staff member disclosed to me that the area I was responsible for was being used to traffic narcotics from the dissident wing to the Kinehan controlled C Wing. Portlaoise was Ireland’s only maximum security prison. I have always protected the identity of the person who disclosed the information to me. It was also disclosed that a senior member of management, through their actions were facilitating this ongoing trafficking. Portlaoise prison has a long history of life threatening group overdoses & despite being a maximum security prison had a ready supply of cocaine, heroin, spice, growth hormones, anabolic steroids, diazepam, a smorgasbord of narcotics. Because a very senior member of management was implicated in the information given to me I felt that I had no option but to disclose this information to the Department of Justice & Portlaoise prison’s most senior Governor. Not in my worst nightmares could I have anticipated what happened next.. #HowIrelandWorks #HowIrishPrisonsWork #WeWillNotBeSilenced @BlowersIreland @ThisEnglandX @seanobrienpsl @IrishMailSunday @VillageMagIRE @wereontheditch @ConorGallaghe_r @RTE_PrimeTime @SerpicoDet

Foremost on my mind was protecting the source of the information I was about to disclose, namely, the alleged senior management collusion of trafficking narcotics into Ireland’s only maximum security prison. Previous to this I had been through 3 years of hell from January 29th, 2019 after my disclosures had been sent by @IrishPrisons HQ to those implicated in my disclosures. Governor Liam Dowling (retired) was a close friend of @CharlieFlanagan (who was minister for Justice) & Assistant Governor Joe Hernon (retired) was a close friend of #LeoTheLeak AKA @LeoVaradkar (who was Taoiseach-Prime Minister). Dozens of other senior managers throughout the Irish Prison Service & IPS HQ were embroiled in the Gross Mismanagement I disclosed, which involved the falsification of tens of thousands of personnel records for over a decade. These senior managers had been given a huge pay rise for something they could be bothered implementing, so they fabricated it instead. @BlowersIreland @kenoflynnTD @williamhboney1 @Trickstersworld @vincentbrowne @OCallaghanJim @mickthehack @IrishMailSunday @Mickcliff @RTE_PrimeTime @SimonHarrisTD @MLorrM @seanobrienpsl @ThisEnglandX @MaryLouMcDonald @Toibin1 @PearseDoherty @EOBroin @Independent_ie @IrishInquiry @EUProsecutor @EU_Commission @SenatorMcDowell @Michael_O_Regan @caulmick @BowesChay @wereontheditch @ClareDalyIRL @lukeming @TomClonan @Default69202648 @EamonMelia @irishexaminer @kenfoxe @jimfitzpatrick @celticjulie @ConorGallaghe_r @Gardawhistlebl1 @SimonHarrisTD @horseymatilda @LFJIreland @JenCumminsTD @paulmurphy_TD @nwl88444048 @HMcEntee @EUCouncilPress #HowIrelandWorks #HowIrishPrisonsWork #WeWillNotBeSilenced

In this State, the crime is telling the truth. Whistleblowers who did the right thing were sidelined and dragged through the courts at your expense. We need a full public inquiry, and Helen McEntee must answer to the Justice Committee.

Callous @HMcEntee rejects any possibility of a health study for injured #IrishAirCorps personnel. Utterly devoid of any sense of care or compassion in a scandal HSA inspectors described as "The worst case of chemical misuse in the history of the state"😞 accas.info/archives/4188

The family of murdered Det Garda Colm Horkan have tonight slammed @OCallaghanJim for referring deadly holsters to Fiosru (Garda Ombudsman). Perhaps because I reported 3 years ago that Ombudsman were told about holsters in 2019!

The Governor’s Office in Portlaoise is in a building known as “The Castle”. As I climbed the stairs a meeting was ending & Chief Officers & lower level Governor grades were looking at me as they came out of the boardroom. The top Governor didn’t appear to be at the meeting so I continued on to his office. His door was open & he was talking to someone on the phone so I walked back out of earshot so that if someone saw me there they wouldn’t think that I was eavesdropping on the boss. After a few minutes the muffled conversation ended & I knocked on his door. Upon being invited in I asked him if I could close the door. “No, the door stays open”, was his response, which I wasn’t expecting. “Can I talk to you off the record” was next & his response was, “No, nothing is off the record”, which set my mind & heart racing.

PART 2/2 WHEN QUALIFIED EXPERTISE THREATENS…… 🔹I am the daughter of a taxi driver & worked for every qualification I earned and every professional position I achieved. Nothing was handed to me through a legal or other “connection”. 🔹I qualified as a solicitor in Ireland & also practised New York & English law. I spent more than twenty years practising international banking, derivatives and capital markets law, including working within major international banks. 🔹I was subsequently recruited as an Expert Adviser to the Irish Banking Inquiry, with responsibilities that included examining the conduct of the Central Bank of Ireland leading up to and beyond the banking crisis. 🔹And what happened when I sought to exercise that expertise? 🔹The Central Bank’s own General Counsel warned me that I should agree all my questions in advance. Read that again. 🔹I found this interjection intimidating & later it was described by Senan Allen in his “Review” as inappropriate, highly irregular & “he oughtn’t to have done it”. 🔹The Allen Report characterised my assessment that @centralbank_ie sought special treatment as “simply preposterous”. 🔹An independent expert is appointed to a parliamentary inquiry examining the circumstances of Ireland’s banking collapse & was being told by the regulator’s General Counsel to pre-agree her questions. [Note I was excluded within the Inquiry from investigating banks due to previous senior in-house roles as Head of Legal of Bank of Ireland Global Markets & Lead Counsel of GE Financial Markets]. 🔹Since when does an institution under scrutiny in an Inquiry get to influence the questions asked by those investigating it & more importantly why did @centralbank_ie require that scrutiny? 🔹I regarded this as a deeply troubling indication of the influence of vested institutional interests over an inquiry supposedly established to uncover the truth. 🔹I subsequently made protected disclosures - supported by colleagues - concerning serious deficiencies in the Inquiry, including inappropriate conflicts of interest, the withholding of crucial documentation & immense pressure to proceed without experts having reviewed essential evidence. 🔹Three of my disclosures were substantiated by late 2015. It is now openly stated & recognised that bankers hoodwinked the Inquiry. 🔹Yet my independent expertise, painstakingly acquired over decades, did not protect me from the devastating professional and personal consequences that followed. 🔹My qualifications were apparently sufficient for the State to recruit me. But my expertise was considerably less welcome when I challenged powerful institutions. 🔹And therein lies the extraordinary irony of Patrick Geoghegan’s lecture about elitism. 🔹A woman with zero legal or professional connections spends decades acquiring qualifications & specialist expertise, only to encounter resistance when along with several colleagues - she exercises a level of independent scrutiny of Ireland’s banking regulator. 🔹Meanwhile, politicians such as Harris & Varadkar - whose records raise serious questions about competence governance and accountability are defended by people who have themselves enjoyed privileged access to political power. 🔹I have no objection to politicians or others without university degrees, however, I object to double standards. 🔹The real elitism is a system in which political, legal & other connections appear to count for more than independent expertise, professional integrity and accountability. 🔹Perhaps Professor Geoghegan might turn his attention to that. @Wftproof @WinkSabee @TransparencyTF @kenoflynnTD @JMcGuinnessTD @johnmcdonnellMP @premnsikka @ArturNadol7566 @stevemiddi1 @BankConfidenti1 @LSRAIreland @NiamhParker4 @SamanthaLaDuc

🔹The scandal of the weaponisation of litigation against me is on a par with the publication of the fabricated Senan Allen Report that was faithfully reported across mainstream media via invented media statements emanating from @OireachtasNews - @rtenews @IrishTimes @Independent_ie @irishexaminer 🔹Morally bankrupt lawyers involved with undisclosed conflicts. All paid for by the public purse - some now sitting in adjudication over the cases of the fraud victims. 🔹Complete inaction by @HMcEntee re retaliation & threats to investigate my private life going back 12 years prior to Banking Inquiry, with McEntee then blocking me on X with no explanation. 🔹Complete inaction by @GardaTraffic re unlawful surveillance stating that I had “no monetary loss”. What happened to a family’s peace of mind? 🔹Expression of empathy from the Department of Justice in relation to my valid concerns about the relentless enforcement of invalid debts in Irish courts. It carries on. 🔹One of Ireland’s darkest long chapters - for bank & regulatory whistleblowers & for those overcharged & engineered into default to repair the concealed & seriously impaired bank balance sheets. 🔹Our Supreme Court’s pronouncement in 2015 - that the illegal loans (extended to the Quinn family to prop up the insolvent Anglo) - were enforceable….served as insight into what Ireland had & would become. 🔹Current AG was correct - the dogs on the street knew that Quinn / Anglo / IBRC is & not was - the greatest corporate scandal in Irish history.
