The second chapter from The Rivers of Amerikay.
Book 1 of The Book of Crusoe Walker: The Ghaney
I Ain't, He Says, I Ain't, Old Kid, And I Would Pinch ' Em If I Did
It was nearly a year since we had destroyed the second Cibola, less than that since Bear-Named-Bear had ripped the throat out of the last of the Harpey brothers and my uncle, Toby Walker, was nervous - something I'd never seen in him before. We were waiting to meet old Addis Walker, the man who was called Songo by all of the Prithees and most of the family.
There were three of us - Toby and his wife, Maddie, and me - and we were expected for dinner with Songo and his almost-new wife, Rebecca, on board the Melancholie Jakewees, the very big and very elegant riverboat that had been my grandfather's home (and mine) since Butterfield the Assassin had burned down the Panopticon the year before.
At first, it had not been planned to be a dinner but, instead, a meeting between Songo and Toby. Then, because it was to be the last day of the old year, Rebecca who was as kind and good as she was beautiful and tough insisted that Maddie who was very pregnant at seven months be included because she wanted to - well, because she wanted to share as much as she could in the coming into the world of her first grandchild.
At the last minute, I'd been added to the list of those who would dine.
My father, Darby, had returned to the Tionesta along the Ghaney to spend Christmas with old friends and I'd gone back with him. Unlike the rest of the Walkers, I'd never been an outdoorsman through and through and though I could take down a deer with my rifle at least as well as all of them, I'd never learned to like field dressing one. So, I'd decided to leave Tionesta early in order to spend First Night with my friends in Nimishillen.
It was late afternoon when I'd gotten back to the Jakewees, and the sky was glooming gray and snow was spitting. I was tired, cold, wet and hungry and I'd been on the Ghaney, alone in my kayak, for a day-and-a-half.
Except for the guards, I saw and spoke to no-one as I hauled myself and my pack filled with Christmas presents - maple candies for the grown-ups and a painter-skin covering for the coming baby - up to my cabin on the Texas.

Visit my local Cheesecake Factory on a Sunday afternoon and you’ll see parties of black families in their church clothes. Most are multigenerational.
They likely see it as an upscale experience. It isn’t cheap.
That shows families instilling values, enjoying each other’s company, and supporting one another.
The kids there aren’t the likely gang-bangers, dealers, and criminals wrecking so many black communities.
Obama mocked the restaurant as beneath him and his audience.
He has contempt for working-class Americans, including black people.

On this day eight years ago, 11 Jews were murdered in a terrorist attack by a white supremacist during Shabbat services at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.
It was the deadliest antisemitic attack in US history.
Today, we remember Joyce Feinberg, Richard Gottfried, Rose Mallinger, Jerry Rabinowitz, Cecil Rosenthal, David Rosenthal, Bernice Simon, Sylvan Simon, Daniel Stein, Melvin Wax, and Irving Younger.
May their memories be a blessing. 🕯️
That's your choice.
Nobody is going to make you believe it.

That’s what I say when you claim you are actually eating Jesus. Not symbolically, actually eating him.
I take you as seriously as you apparently take me.

🚨 JUST IN: President Trump PUMMELS Barack Hussein Obama mocking his White House renovations as a "Saddam Hussein Cheesecake Factory"
*Looks into the camera*: "For YOU to say it's a Cheesecake Factory, that just shows why you were a LOUSY president!" 🔥🔥
"He's not a smart guy."
"To President Obama — the WHITE HOUSE IS A SYMBOL OF AMERICA. IT HAS TO BE CLEAN. The columns can't be broken!"
"The way he ran the country, only a STUPID person. We have to EXPLAIN to Obama that the White House is a SYMBOL OF AMERICA."
"It has to be painted and the exterior plaster can't be FALLING OFF!"
"Guys like Obama don't see dirt. Doesn't see filth. Doesn't see broken ornaments on a building."
47 just went full builder-in-chief mode on Hussein!
Hussein spent the weekend sneering at the White House and trashing a restaurant loved by millions of working families — all while building himself a concrete EYESORE in Chicago
Bessent nailed it, calling it "Darth Vader's TOMB" 🤣
Trump is restoring the People's House to the world-class standard America DESERVES 🇺🇸
Yep.
You're pretty much right.
Though, it isn't the kind of bread that you can buy at a grocery store or bakery.

Aren’t you the people that believe a piece of bread actually becomes Jesus and then you eat him. Not symbolically but actually his body?
Just folks being folks.
A black woman was going the wrong way one a one way street in Los Angeles. She demanded the other car reverse, even though she was the one going the wrong way
The black woman gets out of her car with a crowbar, beats the driver going the right way, breaks all her windows, lights, windshield, beats her so bad she has to go to the hospital
The black woman, even though she was caught on camera during the incident has not been arrested or faced consequences. The investigation is ongoing.
The woman is very clearly shown multiple times in the video, how could the LAPD possibly not make an arrest yet…. Makes no sense

Catholic school students at Rockhurst High School in Missouri serve as pallbearers for the unclaimed cremated remains of people who have died without loved ones to claim them. Through their St. Joseph of Arimathea Society, they have helped lay hundreds of men and women to rest with dignity.

🚨 BOOM! Scott Jennings challenges Abdul El-Sayed’s appeal among Black voters in Detroit, arguing that Barack Obama endorsement won’t automatically win votes.
🔥 Michigan voters want results, economic opportunity, and leaders who listen to their communities.
A famous name can attract attention, but earning voters’ trust is what matters. about Obamacare

🚨🔥 WOW! Scott Jennings takes aim at Barack Obama “Cheesecake Factory” stunt!
Jennings criticizes Obama’s health care legacy and questions his attacks on Trump’s presidential library plans.
Obamacare keeps returning to the political spotlight, but the real question is whether recycled speeches and familiar talking points can still persuade voters.
The American people want results, not lectures. 🔥

🚨 BREAKING: TRUMP QUESTIONS BRAZIL’S ELECTION!
🇧🇷 President Donald Trump has raised serious concerns about Brazil’s presidential election, saying it looked “terrible,” “very BAD,” and “SO CORRUPT.”
Trump stated: “Elections HAVE to be indisputable.”
The controversy centers on a reported extension of voting hours by an electoral authority, prompting questions from Flávio Bolsonaro’s supporters about transparency and fairness.
⚖️ THE KEY QUESTION: Were election procedures applied impartially, and is there credible evidence of irregularities?
Brazil’s electoral authorities must address legitimate concerns with transparent evidence. Allegations of fraud must be investigated—not simply assumed to be proven.
🇧🇷 Democracy demands transparency. Voters deserve answers.
Actually, that wasn't why he was put under house arrest.
You really should check it out.
And, interestingly, Galileo was wrong with his proof that the Earth moved around the Sun though, of course, he was right that it did.

Actually I know the Earth orbits the Sun. Remember when the Catholic Church sentenced Galileo to house arrest for the rest of his life for proposing that?

Shame on him. When asked for prayers, these “men of God” are supposed to pray. No apologies. Just prayers. This tells me if I go to my priest and ask for prayers, he can refuse me if he doesn’t like me? Time to renew the Catholic Church back to what they once were.

One of my favourite things about the Catholic church is that no matter what country I'm in, there's a space where I'm welcomed, and I know the service by heart. The Mass may sound different but feels exactly the same.
That's how I know that I am home.
MEDIA BLACKOUT: Another Church Attacked
If this were a mosque, it would be international news.
While politicians lecture us about the Islamization of Europe, they’re handing America over - right here, right now....
This is St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. A local account just posted video of church property being vandalized.
Brooklyn Park is no longer the ordinary American suburb it once was. It is one of the most rapidly transformed cities in the state, majority non-white, with large Liberian and other African immigrant populations and a MASSIVE Somali Muslim presence, complete with its own Islamic center and a sister-city tie to Somalia.
This is demographic replacement in real time.
And when a Catholic church gets hit, the silence from the people who claim to represent us is deafening.
Our politicians love to lecture about Europe while they import the same conditions here. They will not track the background, country of origin, or religion of those who attack Christian sites.
They bury the data the same way European officials did for years, until the churches were burning and the warnings could no longer be ignored. Do not get me started on what they have done to the women of Europe (Hello Pakistan).
In France, anti-Church attacks have run into the hundreds every year for years, with vandalism, desecration, and arson becoming routine. That is the preview. We are living the early stages of the violent script.
Meanwhile, Islam in America is working to capture every institution we have, pushing its way into every sector of society, from food and banking to schools and culture, while getting its operatives elected to public office to take over from within. They don’t need violence at this stage. They’re working to take control of the system from the inside out.
This is happening now, in a Minnesota suburb.
Every time we look away, another piece of the country is lost.
We still have a chance to stop this takeover...
America is worth fighting for. Vote like it is the last election that still matters. Then hold every single one of these politicians who gets into office accountable.
Our future does not have to be Islamic. But it will be if we keep electing people who are too cowardly or too complicit to stop it.
