That time Larry Bird decided to play left-handed against the Blazers because, and this is an actual quote, “I’m saving my right hand for the Lakers.”
He put up 47 points, 14 boards, 11 assists. Two nights later, the Celtics beat the Lakers at the Forum.

🚨 Jürgen Klopp sends a message to Jamie Carragher over his criticism of Florian Wirtz:
🎙️ “Jamie is entitled to his opinion. But Florian doesn’t need Jamie Carragher to tell him whether he is good enough for Liverpool. And honestly, after tonight, I think Florian has already given his answer”
“People were talking about dropping him, questioning his level, questioning whether this is simply ‘what he is’. Then he puts on the Germany shirt, takes responsibility, creates danger, hits the post, scores and walks off with everyone talking about him again. That is Florian Wirtz. He doesn’t need defending. He needs patience”
“So if I were Liverpool, I wouldn’t be worried about what Jamie says. I’d be worried about what happens when Florian finally reaches his best level because when that happens, a lot of people are going to have to find a very different opinion.”

🚨 Florian Wirtz reveals what Jürgen Klopp told him after the match against Serbia:
🎙️ “After the final whistle, Klopp came straight to me and just hugged me. He didn’t let go. For a few seconds, he didn’t even say anything he just kept holding me and telling me how proud he was”
“Then he looked at me and said, ‘That’s my Florian. Never doubt yourself. I know what you can do, and tonight you reminded everyone.’ Those words meant a lot because the last few games haven’t been easy for me”
“He hugged me again and said, ‘Forget the goal now. Remember the feeling. This is what happens when you trust yourself.’ I honestly didn’t know whether to laugh or cry”
“Klopp didn’t celebrate the goal with me like a coach. He celebrated it like someone who genuinely believed in me when I needed it most”
