People going to be mad when you say we need to be surfs to two faced snakes for our own "safety" (and coincidentally their IPO bag).

Following the amazing reaction to the Marble Curriculum yesterday, we've decided to make it open source 🛰️👇 Everything a child learns in primary school. 1,590 concepts. 3,221 connections across 8 subjects, from Math and Science to Computing and Life Skills. Anchored in the US and UK curriculums, standard by standard (NGSS, Common Core, DfE). What you will find in the repo: every concept as structured JSON with its age band and the evidence a child must show to master it. Every prerequisite link marked hard or soft, with a written rationale. It's a true DAG you can compute learning paths on. Open license, you can build whatever you want with it. Now is a unique time in history to be building in education. Getting AI and kids education right is likely one of the hardest and most important problems to crack over the next decade and we need as many smart and creative minds behind it. We think a common solid basis, accessible to all and that can be built upon, is critical to move fast. That's why we're making this curriculum open source. It's not perfect but we know it's a robust basis, and we believe that sharing it openly is the fastest way to progress in this field. If you're building in education, share this around you and tell us in comments if you find this useful and if you want to contribute. We'll keep working and investing on it @withmarbleapp. Credit goes to @guillaume_boni for building this. I just made it look pretty. Links below 👇

Could have had a real country with mass deportations making everything cheaper and a generation that is better off. Instead, you threw it away cause china or isreal (who cares). Democrats win and this place is shit. Maybe china doesn't "win" though! teapaw.org/Geiger_Capital/status/…

When I was a few weeks postpartum with my second child, I bundled us both up and waddled into the Fairfax County Circuit Court to testify against a man who had accosted my then-toddler daughter and I in a public bathroom while I was heavily pregnant. When I arrived I was brought into a room with his other victims and found out he had assaulted a woman in the same bathroom. I suddenly felt I had been lucky. The arresting officer who had also interviewed me weeks prior was clearly eager to do everything right to keep this guy off the street—he found additional witnesses, pulled surveillance footage, followed every step to the letter. It was physically painful and difficult for me to even be there—trying to discreetly feed and soothe my two week-old for 6 hours on hard benches when we should both be home in bed. It was also terrifying discreetly breastfeeding in the same room as this monster. When I finally took the stand, the attorney for the Commonwealth asked me if the man who was in the bathroom that day was in the room. I paused, confused—because I knew what was going to happen next. The courtroom had been packed all day but as case after case was handled, ours was the last one—now it was just the judge, court reporter, bailiff, the defendant, his lawyer, the Commonwealth attorney, and I. The arresting officer wasn't in the room. The other victim and her husband had been given a new court date and sent home. I adjusted my baby against my chest and looked at her as she repeated the question: Do you see the man you reported to police in this room today? Why was she doing this? What was she doing? I was sweating in my oversized cashmere nursing sweater and I felt prickles down my back. Everyone was staring at me. I'm not a lawyer. She asked me a question... and she was “on my side” so I should answer it, right? I adjusted my baby again to give myself a free hand—and I pointed to him. And just as I expected, his lawyer immediately pointed out there was nobody else present in the courtroom who it could be and therefore we had violated his constitutional right to due process. The judge agreed. Hell, *I* agreed—but then I asked WHY hadn't the Commonwealth given me a photo array to choose from? Why did she ASK that? Too late. It didn't matter that he was on surveillance footage entering the bathroom before us and pushing past us as we fled. He was set free. As I walked out of the court room the arresting officer spotted me from down the hall and ran over to me “Is it back in this courtroom? Is it starting?” No, I told him, it's already over. He had been sent to another courtroom “by mistake.” He didn't even get a chance to testify. He looked horrified. The Commonwealth attorney and “victims advocate” that morning assured us they were going to fight for us. They were SO SORRY this had happened to us. They were SO GRATEFUL that I had come to testify in my condition. Instead they seemingly intentionally let the monster walk free. It's been two years. Yesterday he was released on bail for yet another crime—one of at least THIRTEEN he's committed since that day in court—including sexual abuse of a child under 15. His arrest record from just the last 5 years spans four pages on the Virginia court website. Look at how many women—and CHILDREN—he's victimized since that day. Look how many times his victims have gone to court just as I did only to see him set free again and again and again. This is NOT happening by accident. This is deliberate.

On Monday, I will ask President Trump, via X, to help save my life. He offered to help me if I needed it. I need it. As many of you know, I have metastasized prostate cancer. My healthcare provider, Kaiser of Northern California, has approved my application to receive a newly FDA-approved drug called Pluvicto. But they have dropped the ball in scheduling the brief IV to administer it and I can’t seem to fix that. I am declining fast. I will ask President Trump if he can get Kaiser of Northern California to respond and schedule it for Monday. That will give me a fighting chance to stick around on this planet a little bit longer. It is not a cure, but it does give good results to many people.

I bet more people have taken themselves off the list because of this article than you would have gotten from your greedy definition.
Death is not simply a biological fact, but it's also a social choice. To increase the number of donor organs, we should expand the definition of death. An op-ed I wrote with Snehal Patel and Deane Smith in the @nytimes today. nytimes.com/2025/07/30/opini… via @NYTOpinion

I propose changing the definition of murder to not include people I don't like. Does that mean I'm not advocating to get away with murder? I'm just proposing changing the definition.
Sandeep, your tweet is very badly phrased. The reason people are reacting to it the way they are is because "social choice" sounds like you're proposing killing people for their organs, not expanding the definition of brain death to include ppl in comas.

The people who start the wars don’t fight them, the people who spend the taxes don’t pay them, and the people who forgive the criminals don’t live next to them. Of course we’re going to have too many wars, too much spending, and too much crime.

Tech Right, MAGA right, and a Covid Redux. Covid is a case study in the differing values system among the people who are in an alliance of convenience, and useful for understanding immigration. When Covid hit, THE TECH RIGHT LEFT. It didn't occur to them to stay here and risk it. Most of MAGA right wasn't in a financial situation to leave, and even those who were didn't leave. I could have fled, I stayed in California. I infamously wore a mask rather than hassle $12 an hour staff, to this day people harass me about that. Totally missing the point. I stayed here and fought in a world where one wrong move got you banned from Twitter. MAGA right is tied to this land. We aren't going to leave. Some of us served in the military, some lost family members and friends. The tech right has almost no one who was willing to die for this land. And to be honest, that's OK. Not everyone is called. And some like Elon have done more than most beyond those who made the ultimate sacrifice. I'd certainly rank his scars above my peacetime service, though that's a touchy subject and you need to be careful. We are always going to butt heads on immigration, and even if the MAGA right is wrong, there's a difference. We aren't going anywhere. Skin in the game is such a stupid cliche, and it applies here. This is our country. If we fuck it up, we are stuck with it. If the tech right messes up, they will peace-out of here so far. They'll go live in their bunkers. Because all of their security, people spiritually tied to the MAGA right, will totally be OK with that and will go along with the program. The world won't be like it is in cartel Mexico, or like it was in Rome. "The Praetorian Guard had the power to choose the emperor of Rome." Some on the tech right left America for good. You might be surprised to find out that people are holding court about how American should be run from luxury hotels outside of the country. We aren't going anywhere. I was glad to see Elon say he will die here, and I believe it. If you're some tech right guy who literally left during Covid, please know that we do know who you are, we aren't impressed by the smell of your farts, and while we are delighted to have you on board, we understand that you'll cut-and-run if your (in your own mind) genius policy ideas don't work. Those in the tech right who are planning to live and die in America, please make yourselves known, and more importantly, act like it. It will do much to gain trust, because right now, there isn't as much as you seem to assume there is.

No foreign national has any right, any entitlement, any prerogative to an American job and American life. This should be indisputable. There is no argument to be had A nation exists for the benefits of its citizens, otherwise it's not a nation at all. A system, a company, a program that favors foreigners over citizens and preferentially gives them opportunities that would go to qualified citizens otherwise is fundamentally traitorous and should not exist.

Wow! A TikTok video of a woman accusing Hubbard Inn's employees of being violent went viral. Yesterday, Hubbard Inn addressed the accusations by releasing the video below. After her video went viral, a bunch of ambulance chasers on TikTok were offering their services to help her sue the business. Since then, the woman's TikTok account has gone private, and it appears that if Hubbard Inn lost any business because of her they might just sue her instead. Stay tune.
