This is one of the strangest interviews you'll ever see. I think anybody should be able to see what's going on here, but it'll make you wonder how these people can live with themselves.
Dunking on Kuzma is so easy but “far left” is a term that makes me giggle. If Gavin Newsome is “far left” then who is the “regular left” and is anyone “far right” in their mind?
At least we can all trust Adam Silver, an intelligent, forward-thinking leader of great virtue to solve any NBA problems if they exist.
I wonder how much of NBA training is about monitoring injuries and maintenance compared to returning to play and performance.
I think one day we’ll look at the NBA schedule like we look at WWF calendars in the 80s/90s or pitch counts from before the mid-2000s. It’s just not sustainable. We could have a much, much better product but we have to allow their mutual greed to ruin themselves and the league.
I keep seeing people ask what's the end game when companies no longer need most humans and unemployment explodes. Relying on UBI from our current system is naive beyond belief. It won't happen.
The real answer is being a human becomes more like being a deer or a rabbit.
As Anthropic prepares to IPO for over $1 trillion, a reminder of Dario Amodei’s words shortly after founding the company:
“Distributed human labor is being used to train AI models by large, centralized actors, who concentrate the resulting profits while in the long run making the human labor obsolete.”
In other words, this IPO will be built off the backs of the world’s creatives - who will get nothing out of it except obsolescence.
It is a totally unjust transfer of wealth and opportunity from artists, writers, musicians & other creatives to a tiny tech elite.
I hope it is remembered as such.
(this quote is from a document he wrote that was unsealed in Bartz v. Anthropic)
I appreciate the optimism of the Pacers fans. I truly do. That's just not how I'm wired.
Allowing Myles to walk, trading a top-5 pick and Mathurin in a wasted season to replace Myles with a league-average big saved a lot of money but cost them another crack at a title.
Myles Turner making the type of plays that win games while Jay Huff bricks 3s. Maybe don’t let him go and don’t trade a top-5 pick for a replacement.
Is Adam Silver’s job just to say yes when people offer him money?
The NBA is formally stepping into the prediction markets ecosystem.
The league announced agreements Monday morning with Kalshi and Polymarket that will allow the companies to use official league data and intellectual property and give the league control over what trades the companies are allowed to offer.

It’s crazy seeing shit like this and knowing it just won’t matter when it would’ve been a defining, disqualifying statement for any other president.
