repost via @clubredcircle: In 1991, when British pop was filled with divas, boybands and producers looking for the next big hit, three English men decided to laugh at it all: Right Said Fred — the brothers Richard and Fred Fairbrass along with guitarist Rob Manzoli — release I’m Too Sexy, a provocative mix of dance-pop, disco and camp mood. The song was born in 1990, inspired by the Fairbrass brothers' gym, and was written by Richard, Fred and Manzoli. They even had to fund the demo themselves after several labels rejected it.
The single appeared in July 1991 and quickly became a phenomenon. In the UK it reached No.2, behind the unbeatable Bryan Adams, but the real bomb comes across the Atlantic: in February 1992 it reached No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
New guitar effects pedal idea. in the making. Fred had an idea for a new guitar effect pedal. Jesse from Lazy J Projects has been kind enough to get involved. Jesse popped in to the studio to get an over view of what Fred's idea is.

This ‘council official’ decided that this was a productive and efficient way to spend her time.
For those of you who thought the visit from a Bedford Borough Council official to investigate our daughter Zoe’s (age 12) pretend teddy bear cafe was too ridiculous to be real, here is the arrival of official. This is totally legit. She really did show up at our property to investigate the illegal teddy bears having their coffee🧸🧸☕️☕️

Some GenZ seem to have been short changed on their sense of humour.
We’ve got 5 x US Airplay Awards, ‘Every Breath You Take’ has won an award every time we’ve been at the awards event.
Sting collects a reported £550,000 a year from Every Breath You Take, a song only he is credited with writing. Since his old bandmates sued him in 2025, he has paid them more than £595,000 he admits they were owed.
They say the full bill could pass £8 million.
In the video below, Andy Summers is asked why Sting got all the writing credit for his guitar part. His answer: "That song was going in the trash until I played on it."
In 1983 the band could not agree on how the song should sound, and it nearly missed the album. Summers says Sting told him to go in and "make it your own." He played the part in about one take. The song spent 8 weeks at No. 1 in America.
The money ran on a deal from 1977, put on paper in 1981: whoever wrote a song gave the other two 15% of its publishing, called an arranger's fee. Sting's lawyers say it covers money "from the manufacture of records." A stream, they argue, is a performance, not a sale.
The case for Sting: he wrote the words and the melody alone, nobody forced him to share 15%, and he has already paid what he admits he missed.
If you split anything with partners, write down which money the split covers. The Police wrote theirs for vinyl, and nobody wrote down streaming.
In the clip Summers jokes that it makes him "the most highly paid and the most played in the world." Then he adds: "My mother would be very proud."
So should Sting pay his old band for every stream, or is 15% of a song he wrote alone already generous?
Thank you Andre, I hope life is treating you well.

I cannot tell you how much I like @TheFreds. Richard moved in next door to me and the whole way they conducted themselves showed everyone that despite their fame they weren’t remotely arrogant.
