Lots of wise words in here.
I’ve been on a family vacation to visit relatives in Virginia. Apart from the usual travel-related shenanigans and general excitement of children thrown way off their schedules, we were fortunate to spend a few days doing some American history sightseeing.

Perfect column, @Amie_Just
Thank you for paying @HuskerSoftball softball its due.
NEW | “It really hurts right now. But I’m just so thankful for the journey and to finish it here with this team.”
Nebraska's special softball season came to a painful end on Sunday in the Women's College World Series.

A program that moved mountains this season.
@HuskerSoftball broke records on the field, sold out stadiums on the road, set new attendance records in their home stadium and turned Nebraska into a softball state.
They did it while competing at the highest level and signing every last autograph for future players.
@RhondaRevelle and this team will go down remembered as 2x Big Ten champs and even better human beings.

A column from Houston. The night brought tears. This #Huskers season brought joy that will long be remembered. And, to their greatest credit, heightened expectations.
"We're going to win these games. We're going to continue to compete for championships."

I condemn this in the strongest terms.
There is ZERO place in our great country for these horrendous acts of political violence.
We must find a better way forward.
May Charlie Kirk have a full and quick recovery.

America hasn’t been perfect. It’s made grave mistakes. But there is no country that has ever done more for improving the world. It breaks my heart how unappreciative Americans across the ideological spectrum are of that. Much of the left rejects we’ve ever been good for the world, much of the right wants to stop being good for the world. Shame on all of them.
Every journalist (and citizen) ought to read this book. Or at the very least listen to the podcast, if they are curious at all about how we got to where we are.

There was no stopping Jordy Bahl in Nebraska softball's opening-round regional win.
From Bahl's three no-hit innings to her milestone home run to join the 20/20 club, her impact was all over Friday's game.

Scammers are targeting dealerships that don't have websites, putting a lot of Nebraska businesses into some very uncomfortable positions.
Great work from the legendary Peter Salter.
New at FFP: James Wood was confused when the police called about a luxury car he supposedly sold to a Pennsylvania couple. Then a Florida man showed up at his Lincoln car lot demanding a Land Rover, and Wood’s confusion turned to concern. Read more 🔗 buff.ly/5TIY6lG

My new piece in @TheFP says it’s time to take #autism seriously again (TASA?🤔) and that means slaying once and for all the idea that vaccines cause autism. thefp.com/p/trump-rfk-autism… Autism is a national crisis that we should address robustly. @NCSAutismOrg – at San Jose, CA
Merci, @AlexTaylorNews It was a joy to write.
This is a genuinely beautiful and poignant story - rendered more so at a moment when Europe and the US may soon be wrenched apart, despite the values we still share
