If you follow me, but aren't horrified/angered by Israel's campaign of slaughter and starvation in Gaza and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, please explain.

I'm RT-ing my response to someone yesterday. Our government wasn't like this, even 30 yrs ago. There's one main reason why it's this way. It doesn't have to be. Federally fund campaigns. teapaw.org/TheRealNumber6/status/…

What you're describing is a symptom, rather than a root cause. An @npratc piece circa 1980 said big business was afraid voters would punish them if they donated too heavy-handedly and appeared to be buying the government they wanted. (Remember that PACs were a new thing.) 1/

FUN FACTS: Election of a Speaker > Let's say the election count is DEMS: 255, REPUBS: 180 > Everyone shows up on Jan 3. > 38 Dems vote for someone other than Jeffries, leaving him with just 217 votes. Is 217 enough to be elected Speaker?😳 Yes… eg, if 2 Repubs take a walk 1/

🚨HORRIBLE: Around 70,000 displacement tents across Gaza have been flooded, leaving thousands of families exposed to the harsh elements. Floodwaters have also damaged shops, cafés, streets, and already-damaged buildings sheltering displaced families, compounding the suffering caused by Israel’s genocidal war.

I admit that I completely broke down today. I cried uncontrollably. I couldn’t hold myself together after witnessing what I saw with my own eyes. Today, we went to film a journalistic report inside the displacement tents along the seashore. I swear, what we witnessed was beyond what any human being should have to endure. I saw men crying bitterly. Men I had never seen cry when they lost their children or when their homes were destroyed. Today, I saw them crying because they were powerless to do the simplest thing: protect their children from the water and the cold. We spoke to families who told us they had spent the entire night carrying their children in their arms after floodwater covered the floors of their tents and soaked their mattresses. They couldn’t find a single dry place to put their children. They couldn’t even give them a few hours of sleep. I saw children no older than five, without proper clothes to protect them from the cold, without heating, and without a dry place to sleep. Children shivering inside tents that cannot keep out the rain, protect them from the wind, or provide even the most basic sense of safety. What more must happen for this world to act? How much more suffering must people endure before someone remembers that they are human beings? I am sick of this world. I am sick of its hypocrisy and empty slogans. To hell with a world that talks endlessly about human rights while leaving children to drown inside their tents. To hell with everyone who has witnessed this suffering and chosen silence, and to hell with the governments and institutions that have the power to act but continue to turn their backs on us.

"I’d been watching Mariano Rivera a lot and my cutter was pretty good, but it wasn’t always consistent. There were times where it would be really good and other times when it just wasn’t as effective. Mariano Rivera really helped me. If you look at it from behind, you have all the ball sticking out on this side, it’s overloaded. It almost has to go that way. When I got my thumb underneath the index finger, it was still centered. Soon as I get it moved over, it overloads the ball on that side." Roy Halladay. "When you have All-Star games, you always chit-chat with the guys, exchanging success stories, just talking. I was talking with Roy Halladay and he asked me how I throw the cutter and I taught him. He did good and my guys got really mad at me because I taught him. But it’s all right. I’ll tell you what, I’m going to put it like this: If I was going to charge the guys that I gave advice, I would have made a lot more money. That’s how many players, hitters and pitchers, I spoke to and I gave them advice. That’s part of me." Mariano Rivera. During an outfield conversation before the 2008 All Star Game, Roy Halladay asked Mariano Rivera how he threw his legendary cutter. The New York Yankees closer gladly obliged, sharing with the Toronto Blue Jays ace the secret behind his bat-shredding weapon. Mariano Rivera’s scouting report, July 8, 1995: "DID NOT SEE AN OFF-SPEED PITCH. HE NEEDS ONE FOR THE FUTURE." Mariano Rivers saved 652 games, 42 in the postseason, with a stunning 0.70 ERA!!

💥Hours before Gadi Eisenkot is expected to get the nod, Netanyahu posts a video, apparently new, in which he seems genuinely panicked, calls on his supporters to stop the formation of any new government by any means necessary, and threatens violence. For 11 days, no one has seen this man in public.

As the next chair of the Social Security Subcommittee, a top priority will be to expand Social Security benefits by at least $2,400 a year & extend Social Security’s solvency for generations. How? By scrapping the cap & demanding that the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes.

"He actually told those Yankee kids how he used to hit a ball so hard, he could hit it dead on the third baseman's glove, didn't matter, it would handcuff the guy. Joe said he wasn't trying to brag, but no one could field those shots. One time, he hit that goddamn ball so hard, right at the Tiger third baseman, George Kell, it broke his f****** jaw.' No lie. One day, batting practice, he came out of the cage, DiMaggio still got first licks in BP, and Hank Bauer was waiting there. DiMaggio sidled up. "What am I doin', Hank? What am I doin' wrong?" Bauer thought: "Why's he asking me?" But Bauer wasn't one to mince words. "I think you can't get around anymore." "Bullshit!" DiMaggio barked. DiMaggio walked away, stiff with indignation. "Load-a BULLSHIT." "Joe DiMaggio: The Hero's Life." Richard Ben Cramer. Hank Bauer and Joe DiMaggio. Seldom you see a photo of DiMaggio with his guard down!!!
