After years of building tools for my own streams, I'm finally releasing my FIRST public project!
Meet YapLoq, a FREE TTS bridge that makes setup easier while giving creators powerful features, multiple voice providers, and tons of customization! šļø
š github.com/The-RedGear/YapLoā¦
I swear itās always my dumbest low quality tweets that gain traction and not content I put quality effort into.
So what can you actually DO with YapLoq?
- Let viewers switch voices mid-message or create character conversations!
- Give viewers and roles their own default voices!
- Trigger Streamer.bot actions with in-app events!
- Manage voice playlists, censorship & more!

If you donāt take time to address your viewers directly and make them feel included, of course your chat is gonna be quieter.
I average 24 viewers a stream and itās constantly moving. Because of how I interact with my community.
Last month, I tried my hand at making a Minecraft Mod. The idea was simple, bridge Survival & Creative worlds. Allowing players to enter a dreamscape for concepting builds for survival. #minecraft

As you guys may have noticed, I havenāt been streaming nearly as much as I used to, or as much as I said I would.
This new job has been really good for me, especially after spending the last two and a half years trying to get back into the job market. But AV and hospitality is also a very time-consuming and unpredictable career. I donāt work a traditional 9-5. I work when Iām needed, sometimes for very long hours, and when I do get home, a lot of the time Iām exhausted and already thinking about getting enough sleep for whatever the next work day looks like.
I know this probably isnāt what a lot of you wanted to hear, but I donāt think I can keep promising to stream whenever I get a window of opportunity. Iāve been working myself to exhaustion and then feeling guilty whenever I have free time and donāt use it to stream. That isnāt healthy, and itās an expectation I shouldnāt have set for myself.
The truth is, Iāve also been a little burned out on streaming lately.
Over the last few years, I had to rely on streaming to help me get by, and somewhere along the way it stopped being entirely about making something fun because I wanted to. I started feeling like I constantly had to come up with the next new idea because I needed the channel to grow. Iād pour weeks of work into something new, only to end up in pretty much the same place.
That doesnāt mean Iām not incredibly grateful for where we are today. After nearly five years of streaming, I think weāve built a genuinely wonderful community. I just always hoped that community would continue growing and that more people would get to experience what weāve built together.
Right now, I also donāt really know what the next chapter of the stream looks like. Halo is years away, and while Minecraft and GTA have been a ton of fun, theyāre incredibly saturated categories where itās been difficult for my channel to keep growing.
For a while, Iāve felt like I was letting you guys down if I wasnāt live or constantly working on something new.
But I canāt keep thinking that way.
Iām not quitting streaming. I still love creating things, hanging out with you guys, and making stupidly overcomplicated stuff for the stream just because I can. I still plan to go live when I genuinely have the time and energy to do it.
I just canāt promise when that will be anymore.
For the first time in a while, I have an opportunity to build a career outside of streaming that Iām genuinely excited about. I need to give myself permission to pursue that, get some sleep, have a life outside of work, and enjoy streaming again instead of feeling obligated to do it.
So streams might be less frequent. They might be unpredictable. Sometimes I might have the time to stream and choose to rest instead.
I hope you guys can understand that.
Iām still here. RedGear isnāt going anywhere.
I just need to find a healthier way to be RedGear.
Iāve been thinking a lot about the conversations happening around Halo creators lately, and I wanted to share my perspective after spending nearly five years in this community.
I want to acknowledge that I have been given opportunities through Halo. I got to play Halo: Campaign Evolved early. Iāve been invited to Grassroots events as a guest. Iāve met some incredible people and had experiences that Iāll always be grateful for.
But Iād be lying if I said I wasnāt frustrated looking back at the last five years.
I dedicated a huge part of my career to Halo. I built my content around it, created things specifically for this community, showed up for events, supported HCS, raised money for charity, and kept trying to find new ways to make Halo entertaining for my audience.
And after nearly five years, I feel like Iām standing in almost exactly the same place I was when I started.
There were so many opportunities over those years where Halo could have helped smaller creators grow alongside the franchise. Instead, it often felt like the same people received the same opportunities, exposure, access, and support over and over again.
I canāt speak to whether there was a literal āblacklist.ā I wasnāt in those rooms, and Iām not going to pretend I know something that I donāt.
What I can speak to is what it felt like being a creator trying to build something in this ecosystem.
There was absolutely a feeling that being close to the studio and being part of the right circles mattered. Grassroots was supposed to create opportunities for creators and help grow the Halo community, but too often it felt like success within that ecosystem depended on already having access to it.
Creator programs should exist to be a pathway for opportunities, not a prerequisite for it.
Today I have to prioritize my job outside of content creation because I can no longer stay afloat being just a content creator in the Halo space. I still create. I still care about Halo. And I donāt regret the community Iāve built or the things Iāve made.
But I do wonder what the last five years could have looked like if more opportunities had been used to actually develop creators instead of continually reinforcing the people who had already made it through the door.
I donāt think every creator was owed success. I certainly wasnāt.
But I do think Halo had an incredible generation of passionate creators who wanted to grow alongside this franchise, and far too many of us were left feeling like there was never really a path to get there.
Whatever comes next for Halo under @Activision, I hope that changes.
Where have I seen this before?

Me and over 90 other forgers had the privilege of working with Halo developers during the lifespan on Halo Infinite to bring our content to matchmaking. In this article, we share the stories from that collaborative process that rarely get talked about.

I have to disagree with Tim here. Not every game needs a dedicated Battle Royale. Could it work in Halo? Absolutely. But should it be the main course? Absolutely not.
More than anything, I think Halo needs to stop chasing trends and start setting them again.
Was me finally getting a job really enough to disrupt the canon this much? Like... Iāve been employed for a few days & the entire universe changed.
I trust in Asha Sharmaās vision for the future of XBOX/Halo. But they really need to make a game that resonates with fans and respects the legacy of Halo but builds towards a brighter future.
We got a clean slate here, letās get Halo back on top again.
