I’m excited to be joining the Channel 4 News presenter line-up! It’s been an incredible 18 months as the US Editor based in Washington DC, (working with the absolutely spectacular Gracie Jerome, Ben Martin, Chris Shlemon, @IZtweets94 @mahnoor_akhlaq) and very pleased to say I will continue in my current role, now with expanded presenting duties. Thank you for watching. channel4.com/press/news/anus…

I’m not going to agree with Andy Burnham on everything, but this statement needed to be said by a Prime Minister. After the Conservatives suppressed the truth for years, this took courage.

Whatever your politics this is what cultural democracy looks like. Opera, theatre, music & art shouldn’t be inherited privileges but part of our common life; doors through which anyone can walk, whatever their income, postcode or background. Access to culture is access to possibility, to imagination, confidence & belonging. We should be doing this here. 👇🏻
Never been to the opera before?
Now’s your chance. We’re giving away 70,000 free tickets to the @MetOpera at the iconic Lincoln Center. Go to on.nyc.gov/opera to enter the lottery. There’s not a bad seat in the house.

Here’s two examples from our tactical voting piece today.
The base MRP suggests Reform have a 51% chance of winning the chancellor @JohnHealey_MP seat of Rawmarsh and Conisbrough.
BUT this plummets if tactical voting increases, with a 76% chance of Labour holding the seat.

A message to the people in #70Up: we have grown up together, and I’ve always watched with fascination, but the current series fills me with such unspeakable joy and grief at the same time. Thank you. A true epic. I salute you x

Wishing the Royal Exchange Theatre a very happy 50th birthday 🙏🏻❤️🎈🎂5️⃣0️⃣👌🎂😘 It’s been a privilege to play this extraordinary theatre in the great city of Manchester three times over the years. A cauldron, a genuinely shared experience and a room where magic happens.

Be clear. Reform now has the resource to buy every billboard in the UK, blanket wall to wall advertising across written and broadcast media and saturation leafleting. The British will be blitzed into voting for the ultra right - against every best instinct. It is a dark moment.

Dear @andyburnham,
A £36m donation to Reform
You could have prevented this
You could protect our democracy from being bought like this
So, why did you drop plans to cap donations?
We need you to reverse course on this now
…before it’s too late.
NEW: Reform UK has received a record single donation of £36m from cryptocurrency billionaire Ben Delo in what will be seen as the Americanisation of British political funding.
The astonishing sum comes after Andy Burnham last month dropped his support for capping the amount a person or organisation can give in a single donation. The PM may be regretting that now.

The BBC leads bulletins with Farage “honoured and humbled” to get Britain’s biggest ever donation (like ot is a peace prize!) How about ‘Farage in fresh funding scandal as crypto convict pardoned by Trump becomes latest donor.’ Can we not sack the Gibb/Reform team who write the headlines and control BBC online? Thank God for Channel 4!!
