Our crew come from a variety of backgrounds. Critical Care Paramedic Clare also works as an Army Reservist, and is currently using her clinical skills to support @Army2MERCIAN with helicopter medical evacuation during pre-deployment training at @BATUKOfficial 🇰🇪 🚁 ⚕️
A few taskings recently where I am reminded as an emergency service you are NEVER alone. To single out one facet of this.... British Public: Do not underestimate the capabilities and competence of @PoliceMedics! I have consistently seen good clinical care achieved prior to first

ambulance on scene AND in a supportive role afterwards. Couple that with personal reflection, lead by a desire to deliver good clinical care and you have a bunch of phenomenal individuals!

What a great way to mark the start of #NationalAirAmbulanceWeek! 🚁💚 We were delighted to receive an open letter from HRH The Duke of Cambridge thanking all our staff, volunteers and supporters for their vital role in helping to save lives every day in the North.

No tractor? 🚜 No problem! 🚗🚁 When The Guardian of the North II first arrived at Progress House, the tractor was still in use over at Teesside International Airport. However that didn't stop our paramedic Steve Miles coming to the rescue with his ex-military Land Rover.

Was nice to see @cornwallairamb's 169 fly into the #IslesOfScilly last week whilst out on a run! Can you spot it?... Did wonder if @THennessyJones was on board!.. #SmallWorld @thisisscilly #Cornwall #HEMS

Our volunteer Bruce Evans, from Windermere, is battling terminal cancer and has been self-isolating during lockdown. Recently we invited him to fly in our new helicopter as it was being relocated to Progress House near Eaglescliffe. Here's what he thought of the experience...

Thank you @TC1881_NYP! #Proud of our Team! .... the whole team!
Today, in the middle of the @northyorkmoors I saw the crew of @GNairambulance provide an unprecedented level of medical care to a seriously ill patient, all whilst wearing restrictive full PPE suits. Please consider supporting them if you are able.

It’s great to see everyone come together once again to #ClapForOurCarers. Here’s our critical care team at the Great North Air Ambulance Service showing their appreciation for everyone involved in the ongoing response against COVID-19. #ClapForCarers #StayHomeSaveLives

"I've done 35 years of clinical work, and now it's time to move on." This afternoon we said goodbye and good luck to our paramedic Paul Burnage, but not before we shared a few funny stories over a slice of cake! Best of luck for the future Paul 💚👏

Good luck for your retirement @pbhems! .... when you do retire 🤣😂 ... In the meantime remember ... computers work better when they haven't been hit with a hammer!!
After 12 years today is my last day as a critical care paramedic with the Great North Air Ambulance Service, and probably my last clinical day as a paramedic. After 35 years time for the young ones to take over.
