Weekend goals is Sleep in, wake up late, and enjoy life. 😂 But my puppy said, “Nice try, human! It's 4:30 AM❤️ Rise and shine!” 🐶🤣 Apparently, my puppy doesn't believe in weekends, holidays, or sleeping in. I'm officially employed by my dog, with no day off! 😂❤️🐾

Energy Secretary Chris Wright says that the Palisades plant will start up in a few weeks, perhaps by the end of Novermber. Article link in reply.
The article's statement that the restart is controversial is false. There was overwhelming majority support, at the state and local levels. The only opposition was from the "same suspects", i.e., the old dogmatic anti-nuclear groups that most people didn't listen to.
One frustrating statement actually came from the Energy Secretary himself:
“You got to be very careful for safety in Michigan and nuclear in general. So it’s just very careful, meticulous work...."
Such statements effectively tell the public that nuclear poses uniquely large potential hazards. They actually increase public fears. The truth is that nuclear's risks are *lower* than those of other energy energy sources and industry (particular the fossil energy alternative).

Let's be blunt. The internal generation of risk capital from the Filipino economy is far from adequate to uplift the economy at a rate that would fully produce the level of prosperity that the people are capable of.
FDI and better integration with the booming US economy would be a great boon to the people of the Philippines.
Too much of PH business focuses on consumer spending and too little on industrialization that could bring in foreign exchange.

My column today: There is an important lesson for the Philippines in this intra-Asean spat. Unlike Singapore, we cannot afford to antagonize the Indonesians in any way. Indonesia supplies about 99 percent of the coal we import for our power plants. philstar.com/business/2026/1…
