Chris Murphy is a liar and has spent over a decade as one of the loudest Democratic cheerleaders for the Ukraine war. In December 2013 he stood in Kyiv with John McCain and told the Euromaidan crowds America was with them against closer ties to Russia. He has pushed aid, sanctions, and escalation ever since. That long support helped sustain a war in which Ukraine’s drone strikes have repeatedly hit Russian refineries, taking significant refining capacity offline and cutting Russian diesel exports. The result is a tighter global diesel market and higher prices for American truckers, farmers, and consumers. Murphy (along with fellow Connecticut Democrat Dick Blumenthal and the broader Biden-era position) kept the conflict on its current path. Now the diesel pain is real. Trump is the one publicly calling out the refinery strikes and taking steps to ease U.S. fuel costs.
