I joined @Toroosian for episode 150 (!) of his Machine Minds Show to discuss the challenges of designing the interaction layer for a robot that could eventually do anything, and the challenges of keeping Rick from interrupting your podcast recording.

What happens when #AI agents stop living on screens and start controlling cameras, wheels, monitors, and eventually full #robotic bodies?
I joined Samson Roseβs Founder and host of the Machine Minds podcast, @Toroosian, to discuss the rapidly converging worlds of AI agents, #ComputerVision, robotics, and physical intelligence.
We dive into why @RealSenseai depth perception is becoming foundational infrastructure for #PhysicalAI, how @AgenticROS lets AI agents interact directly with ROS and control real robots, and more. π

SkySafeβs CRO Melissa Swisher recently joined Greg @Toroosian, host of the Machine Minds podcast, to talk about a challenge many critical infrastructure operators are only beginning to confront: airspace awareness.
A few key takeaways:
π· Security can't stop at the fence line. Critical infrastructure has invested heavily in securing what happens on the ground. But as drones become more accessible and capable, the airspace above those facilities is becoming an increasingly important part of the security picture.
π· A detection is just a data point. Knowing that βa drone is thereβ isn't enough. Connecting sightings, flight history, movements across sites and changes in behavior can reveal patterns and provide the context needed to understand what actually requires action.
π· C-UAS isn't a one-technology problem. RF, radar, cameras, acoustics and mitigation each solve different pieces of the puzzle. Effective counter-UAS requires a layered approach where technologies work together to provide a more complete picture.
The future of drone security isn't just about detecting more drones. It's about understanding what's happening in your airspace and knowing what to do about it.

the anthropic co-founder jack clark advice that stuck with me:
read the primary material. not the summary. not what the ai said about it. the actual thing.
form your own opinion first. then ask the model. never the other way around.
keep practices in your life where itβs just you against the world ~ a sport, an instrument, reading, building something with your hands. spaces where the algorithm canβt mediate what you learn about yourself.
and donβt defer to AI even when itβs usually right. especially then, actually. thatβs precisely when the habit forms.
the people who wonβt get eaten by this moment are the ones who stayed hard to replace. not because they avoided the tools but because they kept the parts of thinking that make the tools worth using.
