The Freight-8 Super-Heavy Interstellar Freighter is one of the most enduring designs in the history of interstellar commerce. Originally conceived during the final generations of conventional Orphyx deep-space transportation, the class predates the Orphyx adoption of the Curvature Drive by centuries. When FTL travel eventually became commonplace, there was little incentive to replace a platform that had already proven itself exceptionally reliable. Instead, the Freight-8 was adapted around the new propulsion technology with remarkably few changes to its fundamental architecture
