The YouTube version of a pod I recorded 2 wks ago with @DuncanCastles about MCFC case. I was "on holiday" in Cornwall at the time. Hugely gratified about the positive feedback. And if you want somewhere gorgeous to go in Cornwall, go to Watergate Bay. youtube.com/watch?v=NjsJyay0…

The integrity of the season is already gone - thanks to Manchester City. Over a decade of English football has been a farce - thanks to Manchester City. The punishment should be far harsher than guaranteed relegation. youtube.com/watch?is=S3V-eeS…
Interesting to see a lot of people so concerned about the integrity of the league welcoming the sort of deduction (probably a fair one, imo) that would turn all of City's games after it into a farce.

Infantino: ‘Respect for independent institutions and the rule of law is what protects the integrity of our competitions and the credibility of FIFA at all times.’ • Says man who attempted to secretly sell the World Cup to the Trump mafia without consulting the federations, FIFA Council or multiple senior members of his own staff.
Replying to @nypost
FIFA reiterates the comments made by FIFA President Gianni Infantino on 6 July: “I have seen the public comments regarding the decision of the independent FIFA Disciplinary Committee related to the suspension of Folarin Balogun, and I would like to reiterate a fundamental principle of FIFA’s governance. “FIFA’s judicial bodies are independent. They operate autonomously, apply the FIFA Disciplinary Code, and decide cases based on the applicable regulations and the specific facts before them. Their independence is essential to the credibility and integrity of football, and this must always be respected. “Yes, I regularly discuss matters related to the FIFA World Cup with the President of the United States, and on this matter, I did receive a call from President Donald Trump, just as I receive calls from heads of state, government officials, football stakeholders and business executives from around the world on many different issues. During our conversation, I explained that there was an ongoing legal process involving FIFA’s independent judicial bodies and that the case would be decided in due course by the competent bodies. That is how FIFA’s system works, and it is a principle that I will always uphold. “I read the decisions of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee when they are issued. Sometimes I am surprised by them. Sometimes I agree with them, and sometimes I disagree. “What I always do, however, is respect those decisions and the autonomy of the bodies that make them. Whether we personally like a decision or not is irrelevant. Respect for independent institutions and the rule of law is what protects the integrity of our competitions and the credibility of FIFA at all times.”

Labour minister Jacqui Smith on Manchester City's Abu Dhabi owners: 'The idea that we would turn our back on potential investors into this country [who have been found guilty of systematically breaking Premier League rules for nearly a decade], I just think is wrong.' I guess these things happen when a club deliberately organises its finances in order to create a €1billion+ advantage for itself…

Man City's substitutes cost €372m. PSG's starting XI cost €411m. City also had Foden on their bench. If he was in PSG's squad, he'd be their third-highest earner. If City aren't smart enough to allocate their resources properly, that's not PSG's problem.
Amazing to read so much about poor City being too tired to play PSG because they had to play Liverpool on Sunday, while PSG play in Ligue 1…. Seriously?!! It’s October, City have a FAR bigger squad. PSG destroyed them in that 1st half because they were brilliant. Nothing else.

Lisandro Martinez explicitly and directly attacks Manchester United’s hierarchy for the club’s worst start to a season in four decades. ‘We expect more from the top, from up. To bring more players to compete because many, many teams bring many players as well. ‘I expected more from the technical director… It’s easy to say the coach, it’s easy to say the players, but also we have to see other areas, eh?’ youtube.com/@transferspodcas…

Independent Football Regulator chief executive Richard Monks: 'If we determine an owner is unsuitable, then we would require them to sell the club within a particular timeframe. 'If they can’t do that in a particular timeframe, then we would effectively appoint a third party to sell the club on their behalf.'
