Ahead of Albion’s trip to Sunderland here a look at the month ahead. A chance for Albion to prove we are here to stay. #bhafc thetweetingseagullblog.wordp…

I've a Brighton article coming out this weekend that focuses on their defensive approach. What stands out to me is that they blend M2M defending with non-M2M principles (protect the centre, +1 at the back). It is then up to the players to interpret how to make sense of those two seperate things in a match, and they're so smart in how they do it.
Credit to the coaching for being able to get them to be so alligned collective, out of possession, using tactics that look different in different parts of the game.
Ten years ago today @sjsidwell scored this outrageous goal.
But rather than taking acclaim, he went straight over to the bench & held aloft the shirt of teammate Anthony Knockaert who was missing after the recent death of his Father. #together #bhafc 💙🤍

It's another pinch me moment for #BHAFC fans today, as hundreds descend on Madrid, ahead of tonight's game against #Getafe in the Europa Conference League.
It's worth remembering that on this day in 1997, we hosted #BarnetFC at Priestfield in Division Three (League Two).
Just 1,025 fans were in the ground that night, having made the 150-mile round trip to Gillingham. We lost 3-0, a result that kept us 23rd in the table, only off the bottom because Doncaster Rovers were having an even worse season.
I'm sure there will be fans in Spain tonight who were also there that night in Gillingham and we salute you.
As @FatboySlim sang, "We've come a long long way together, through the hard times and the good. I have to celebrate you baby, I have to praise you like I should"
I remember when numerous #bhafc fans were questioning Fabian Hurzeler’s coaching abilities… how times changed eh.
Interesting that the front page features Joel Lynch at this time. Injuries plus the breakthrough of Tommy Elphick meant I saw him about as much in Eastbourne Wetherspoons as I would playing for #bhafc this season.
A season that preluded his move to Forest the following summer.
On this day 2007, #BHAFC beat #ltfc 3-1 at Withdean in League One, watched by 5,317.
Baz Savage continues to moonwalk his way into Albion fans' hearts with one goal, Nicky Forster scoring the other two, as we move up 1 place to 7th in the table.

Since saying this, Maresca has faced Hurzeler 3 times in the prem. Hurzeler won all 3 games with an aggregate score of 7-1
🚨🎙️ Enzo Maresca on Fabian Hürzeler: “I prefer not to say anything about their manager.
It’s not that I’m not impressed. First of all, I think the previous manager [De Zerbi] is a top manager…and that’s it, yeah.”
When asked if he considered Hürzeler a ‘top manager’ too, he did not answer.

Welcome to week nine of The Athletic’s Premier League performance table, where all that matters is your most recent display.
This one does not make pretty reading for Crystal Palace fans — with high-flying rivals Brighton on top, while Pierre Sage's side languish in last spot.
Pleasant reading for north London, less so for the north east...

Born on this day in 1930, the oldest surviving Brighton & Hove Albion (and Charlton Athletic) player still walking God's Earth. Happy 96th birthday Eric Gill, one of the best goalkeepers of his generation and the subject (along with Dave Hollins) of my 2022 book 'Eric & Dave'.
Was he ever?

They’ve been found guilty of falsifying accounts to the tune of the best part of a billion pounds over a decade.
And they’re now playing the victim about a penalty decision.
Pathetic.
Relegate them ASAP.
THREE handball incidents inside Brighton’s penalty area. Not a single penalty awarded to #ManCity!
At this point, it feels like the Premier League is doing everything possible to avoid giving City a penalty.
Absolutely ridiculous!
Hold on, didn’t Lewis Dunk end his career 15 years ago with that tackle? #bhafc

My fun fact: When Brighton won the 3rd division in 2001, we toppled a team who were done for financial doping. Spooky...#bhafc
Palace aren’t even the biggest club in Croydon. Hilarious. #bhafc

The last time Brighton won a league title was League One 2010/11, after 10 games #bhafc had 21 points.
19 points from 9 games so far this season, which means if we beat Brentford next Sunday it will be 22 points from 10 games. 👀 #JustSaying
