In 2016, President Obama signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide Israel with military aid through 2028 – aid that is spent right here at home and supports thousands of American jobs. Israel faces extraordinary threats to its security and has been America's most important ally in the Middle East. Israel spends nearly four times as much on its own GDP on defense than the rest of our allies. Donald Trump’s isolationism will only make America weaker on the world stage.

Expect major appropriations battles coming. Democrats are likely to oppose funding the Department of Defense to continue kinetic operations against Iran without a coherent strategy. Short term continuing resolutions and government shutdowns will be prevalent if the administration does not address Congressional concerns.

While the results of the midterms are still up in the air, American voters across the country have made one thing clear: They want SFRC to pass State Department authorization independently rather than constantly ceding authority to SASC and folding it into NDAA

The latest cost estimate of the Iran war stands at $47.1 billion as of Oct. 16. That doesn’t include damage to bases, which the Pentagon separately priced at a minimum of $5 billion. That number could potentially be as high as $15 billion. wsj.com/world/middle-east/ir…

FACT: The annual funding Israel receives from the US amounts to less than one-tenth of 1% of the federal budget. Less than 1/10th of 1%. FACT: That annual funding would cover only a few hours of federal health care spending. A few hours. Yet politicians who specialize in scapegoating would have you believe that Israel is responsible for America’s affordability crisis. Like every form of scapegoating before it, it is a dangerous lie.
