Girl, if you’re going to act this condescending, at least bother to learn how IP licensing and video game collaborations actually work before talking out of your ass. Yes, the Blade Runner 2049 collaboration makes sense in light of the upcoming series. Nobody is denying that. But collaborations don’t require the original IP to have a new release to promote. That’s not how this industry works. Developers can literally license an existing IP because it’s recognizable, attracts attention, expands their own brand’s reach, and potentially brings in an entirely new audience. Detroit fans who have never played LaDS might become curious enough to try it. That’s the whole point of cross-promotion. Since I actually play Naraka: Bladepoint, let me give you two examples: Naraka collaborated with The Witcher 3 (2015) in 2024 and Persona 5 Royal (2019) in 2025. And no, these weren’t JUST login events. Both featured free event rewards AND collections of paid crossover skins and cosmetics. LaDS could theoretically have done something similar with Detroit. Shocking concept, I know. And I’m sure anyone willing to spend five minutes researching could find plenty more examples across the industry. As for Detroit, the official Japanese LaDS website STILL contains image files named “Detroit version content overview.” That’s a verifiable fact, not something fans fabricated out of thin air. Does it prove a canceled collaboration? No. But it certainly gives people a legitimate reason to ask questions. What’s genuinely embarrassing is watching people confidently dismiss an entire possibility simply because they personally don’t understand why a company would collaborate with an older IP. You don’t have to believe the theory. But your ignorance of how other developers handle collaborations is not evidence that something is impossible.
