#malfoid It's been a very happy and yearnful time for us all. But remember, continue to yearn. No matter how hard is it, as for we live only for hope. Hope is brutal, but also blissful. Malfoid will eventually end, but never should it be forgotten. The story about gentle love and overcoming troubles. we live and die, years after years. But never should we forget her story and a friends we made along the way. Together we fight and together we fall. And together we YEARN! music: Nostalgia by @sargwinn

Democrats want to do this again but you're staying home because the Iran war gave you a sad
My phone just pinged me with an “on this day” memory from this day three years ago on 9/20/23. We were in Eagle Pass, TX and witnessed a mass illegal crossing of more than 4,000 illegal aliens crossing in one single spot in just two hours, leading to CBP having to shut down the nearby international bridges & ports of entry. @FoxNews was the only network there. The only resistance offered was Texas military & DPS assets which had placed razor wire at the edge of the river, but the Biden Border Patrol cut through it and in one infamous case, even used heavy machinery to lift it out of the way so the illegal aliens could proceed into the U.S. A complete free for all that day - and it would get even worse three months later in December 2023 when the illegal crossings reached the highest ever recorded in U.S. history with more than 11,000 in a single day.

My local Costco switched from normal human milk jugs to these abominations. Not only do they have those faulty lift n' peel things rather than a normal ring seal but they are specifically designed to make it harder for men to drink direct out of the jug. Prison for all involved.

“Here I am thinking a farmer being murdered every week is normal. It’s not! This is normal!” I vehemently and viscerally disagree with this man on that one point. And I want everyone to read it. Don’t get it twisted. I LOVE the fact that he loves America and feels safer here than South Africa. I do. It’s so amazing to see. But what he described as normal…. people getting killed all the time… THAT IS NORMAL. THAT IS THE NORM. AMERICA IS THE EXCEPTION. We forget that civilization is merely a clearing in a hostile jungle carved out by man. And the jungle constantly tries to reclaim it. America is precious. It must be preserved. There is nowhere to go if this land falls. Peace is the exception of the human condition. Death and violence is the norm. Remember this.

We cannot allow Silicon Valley to monopolize AI. Monopoly building is their core business model. It is what they know how to do. Take something that begins as an open frontier, pour billions of dollars into it, centralize the infrastructure, capture the distribution channels, lock everyone into a handful of platforms, and then position themselves as the indispensable gatekeepers between ordinary people and the technology itself. We watched this happen with search. We watched it happen with social media. We watched it happen with mobile computing, cloud infrastructure, digital advertising, and online commerce. We cannot allow it to happen again with artificial intelligence. The stakes are simply too high. AI is rapidly becoming a new layer of civilization itself. It will increasingly mediate how people search for information, write software, create art, conduct research, educate their children, build businesses, practice medicine, communicate, and make decisions. Whoever controls that layer acquires enormous power over everything built on top of it. If five corporations control the models, the compute, the interfaces, and the rules governing what those systems are permitted to say and do, then five corporations effectively become the librarians, teachers, editors, programmers, researchers, and increasingly the intellectual gatekeepers of civilization. That cannot be our future. There is something particularly insulting about being told that this technology somehow belongs exclusively to the corporations that trained the models. Trained them on what? Us. Our books. Our websites. Our photographs. Our conversations. Our code. Our research papers. Our journalism. Our art. Our forums. Our public archives. Decades of accumulated human knowledge and creativity were vacuumed into enormous datasets and transformed into these systems. Silicon Valley did not conjure this knowledge out of thin air. The models are standing on a mountain of human civilization that billions of people spent generations creating. These systems also do not live in some magical digital cloud floating above the earth. They run on our electrical grids. They occupy enormous data centers built on our land. They consume energy generated by our infrastructure. Their chips move across supply chains protected by our governments and ultimately by our people. Their companies enjoy legal protections, capital markets, universities, roads, communications networks, and political stability created and maintained by the civilization around them. After drawing upon all of that, we are supposed to accept a future where a tiny priesthood in Silicon Valley owns the intelligence layer of the digital world and rents access back to everyone else on whatever terms they decide? No. The models belong to all of us. The knowledge underneath them is our inheritance. The infrastructure supporting them exists inside our civilization. The people whose lives and work generated their training material are not incidental to this story. They are the story. This is why open models matter. Local models matter. Open-source tooling matters. Independent compute matters. Alternative AI companies matter. The ability to download a model, modify it, run it yourself, build on top of it, and decide for yourself what it should do is not some niche hobby for programmers. It is one of the most important technological questions of our generation. We need thousands of AI companies, thousands of models, thousands of applications, and millions of people experimenting freely with this technology. We need models running in massive data centers and models running on laptops in basements. We need businesses, churches, schools, families, researchers, developers, and communities building AI systems around their own values and their own needs. No central committee in San Francisco should determine the intellectual boundaries of artificial intelligence for eight billion people.

"Effective Altruism" but it's selfish and I don't help anyone I just talk about creating AI God to kill the entire human race to play out my childhood revenge fantasies because I didn't have a date to Prom. Trust me bro. I'm from the AI frontier labs and I'm a repressed sexual degenerate and I'm here to help you.

Please understand that we're not dropping out because we are lazy, but because the rules for the game all but explicitly state that we are not allowed to win, even when rightfully earned. When thet's the case, what is our incentive to play? We're not unwilling to endure hardship and strife, but if there's no reward at the end, there's no point in it. The promise of a brighter future at the end of the tunnel is gone. The American Dream has been gutted. The social contract as a whole has been replaced with a simple "you must do it because we said so", and we are reduced to tax batteries with no promise of tomorrow. This flies in the face of the American spirit. I say this with as much respect as I can muster, but young men are the canary in the coal mine for these sorts of issues. Instead of blindly lashing out at those who represent the future of the Nation, you should take a step back and try to figure out why we're dropping out and creating parallel systems rather than operating within the confines of legacy ones, and work to address these issues with the the same sense of duty and intent that you would rightfully expect of any of us.

It must be terribly intimidating for Boomer academics to log onto X dot com and see a bunch of random Zoomers with anime avatars break down their ideas and arguments with perfect fluency, explain why they’re retarded, then call them a slur.
Historian Jared Diamond: "If Genghis Khan had been born 10 years later or 200 miles further away, we wouldn't know anything about him." Jared Diamond: "Genghis Khan created the largest land empire in world history, all the way from China to Poland. And yet, there were other people who tried—Attila the Hun and Tamerlane the Turk. Why did Genghis Khan succeed? Well, within the last 10 years, students of tree rings have figured out that on the Mongolian steppe, the wettest time in the last 2,000 years was the decade of Genghis Khan's birth. If he had been born 10 years later or 200 miles further away, we wouldn't know anything about Genghis Khan. But he happened to have been born at the right time and place because with all that rain, that meant hay to feed sheep and goats, to feed Mongol babies, and it also meant hay to feed Mongol horses to ride into battle. So Genghis Khan was someone at the right time and place, but he had no idea, and we didn't have any idea until this tree ring study of the last decade."

This is what oligarchy is: Elon Musk, the richest man alive, plans to spend at least $100 million to help elect Republicans. We must end this corrupt campaign finance system, get rid of Citizens United, ban super PACs and move to public funding of elections.
