Temple should be a case-study on how to NOT launch a niche tech product to a wider consumer base.

All fun and games till Apple decides to manufacture their own RAMs.

Absolutely!
I have immense respect for Deepinder and what he's built with Zomato, Blinkit and District. At the same time, I reserve the right to call out what I perceive as gimmicks, whether it was the Chief of Staff episode or now Temple. My opinions could be right, wrong or even unwarranted. That's fine. But when did we become so incapable of having a healthy, objective discourse? A founder can be brilliant at building businesses and get certain things spectacularly wrong. Someone can be exceptional in one domain and questionable in another. One doesn't cancel out the other. Founders have every right to experiment, take risks, fail and defend their ideas. Consumers, potential consumers, experts and the public have every right to question, scrutinise and demand evidence. Why is it that a founder has to be labelled either a visionary or an evil mastermind, while anyone questioning them is either a blind hater or a troll? Why have we reduced every conversation to picking sides? Why can't we admire someone's achievements and simultaneously question their decisions? Why does acknowledging someone's brilliance have to mean endorsing everything they do? I genuinely believe we've lost the ability to hold two seemingly contradictory opinions at once. And that's a rather unfortunate place for any society to find itself in. We need more room for nuance, intellectual honesty and the willingness to disagree without turning every disagreement into a war. Not every founder is a messiah. Not every critic has an agenda. And not every debate needs a winner. I find our collective inability to make room for nuance far more disappointing than the debate itself.

Unnecessary response @deepigoyal. As much as criticism hurts on something you put your heart & soul into, Steve Jobs would never go on stage to defend his vision. It takes away that mystique charm a new launch creates in the mind of the buyers. Heads down, chip up & keep building
Dear Concerned Indian Doctors, I see your rage against Temple on X. I have a few points to make: 1. First and foremost, a business lesson: if Temple were a scam, and any of what we said weren't true, people would know it in just a few days of using Temple. We have 14-day, no-questions-asked returns (which even Apple doesn't offer in India). If the product doesn't work, it fails out of the gate and the company dies before recovering a tenth of its R&D. 2. We have already spent $30m building Temple, $20m out of which is my own money. Selling a few thousand devices recovers a small fraction of this investment. A scam that pays nothing is not a scam anyone would run. 3. I left the Eternal CEO role to chase purpose with Temple. This is not about money. I have enough of it to last for generations. My incentives are fully aligned with getting the science right. I am not staking a reputation earned over 20 years on making a quick buck. 4. Our employees bought into our round a few months ago. The round we're raising now is mostly our customers. Scams don't build that cap table. 5. Most wearable companies start with internal studies. Whoop shipped its band in 2015, and the first published validation followed a few years later. We hold ourselves to a higher standard; pre-prints are a step prior to peer reviewed publications, and they are coming up. 6. At some point you have to stick your neck out and say: we believe in our science, and the product is now valuable enough for people to pay for and use. We believe we are there. More validation continues in public. 7. We are confident that we are building something that the world is going to be positively astonished with. We stand by our science and our methods. Each of our claims is easily verifiable by individuals and institutions alike, and you will see a lot of independent studies come up on their own when the device becomes available to use. Last but not the least, the most ground breaking features in Temple are not even public yet. And some of them, thankfully, have nothing to do with doctors 🤭 Hope this addresses some or all of your concerns. If not, keep raging 😘🤗

He is not fully wrong, but there’s a catch. Millions of memory space that one pays for, but is never utilised. Memory on demand will unlock a massive potential for people. However the problem is monopoly & capitalism, where these companies eventually become ‘price controllers’.
NEW: Sam Altman says it’s “quite terrible” for everyday people to own RAM, arguing it belongs in data centers.

The question is, is the avg 30% price hike able to offset the 30% sales drop in P&L?
APPLE IPHONE SALES IN INDIA FALL UP TO 30% DURING FESTIVE SEASON; HIGHER PRICES, WEAKER PROMOTIONS HIT DEMAND

Wise words. Apple keynotes now are super optimised, with people and cameras jumping here are there; but go back and watch Steve Jobs reveal the Macbook Air, the iPod, the iPhone. Tell me which one do you like? Not everything needs to be optimized. It takes away the fun from it.

Apple should remove bands from Apple Watches next. @johnternus

Yes. iFold - no (lol). But iPhone Fold, yes. The only probable reasons for calling it iPhone Duo seems to be to make it Genz lingual friendly & secondly, Samsung already using the Fold branding.
naming your foldable phone "duo" instead of iFold is a generational fumble.

These phone cases brands need to calm down. Don’t bite the hands that feed you. Good luck the day Apple decides to put an end to this nonsense and stops providing early dimensions/prototypes. Apple has their own accessories. They choose not to compete. Don’t let them change that.

Hi @airtelindia Have you lost your mind? Why are you using service line to spam users despite my number being on DND? I’ve received 35-40 SMS from you in the last 3 days. Filing a complaint against you with @TRAI

My theory Amex wants to focus entirely on the Reserve and Platinum charge cards in India. Aligns with why they have been heavily advertising Reserve for the last 1 yr.
Seems like Amex played a master move here. ♟️ First came the mysterious MRCC → Platinum Travel upgrade links. Then came the March milestone changes. A devaluation, yes, but still manageable. And now? A monster devaluation that completely changes the Platinum Travel milestone game. The interesting part: A lot of users were attracted towards Platinum Travel, a card where the renewal fee cannot simply be waived by hitting a spend threshold. And after getting people onto the card, the milestone proposition itself has been significantly weakened. For many users, the strategy now could simply become: Hit the milestone → extract the value → close the card before renewal. I genuinely don’t understand what Amex is trying to achieve with Platinum Travel in India. There has to be a bigger strategy behind this. 👀

Who is handling this account? What credibility does a tech media have after making generalized statements like this?
128GB is more than enough in 2026, not everyone needs 256GB 🤷‍♂️

Good video @r3dash I’m on YT Music for years despite paying for an active Apple Music subscription. Their recomms are excellent. In terms of quality - I feel that Apple Music over Bluetooth sounds a little muffled vs YT Music. What do you think? youtu.be/JIZmS5mCTYw?si=6hlt…
