Baffled we managed to get this into the game. I turned her concept around in a day, and the team just jumped on it from there.

this one is a bit of a read, but i'd love if y'all checked it out - this is the most proud i have been of a weekend warmup post
thank you to the sett pod for letting me tell their story ❤️
here's the story of sett's development.
ft. producer @Kooswithak, balance lead @yohosiefgc, and sett's designer @UpToSnuff_FGC

wrote the script for this!!
i really wanted to tell a story about how intense the highs and lows of competition can be. the team brought it to life in the coolest, craziest way
talk about beast mode

ALT Sett looks off the side while he grins, showing his teeth. One fist touches his chin, and the other is clenched at his side. The top of the image reads, "Sett, the Boss" while the bottom read "Grappler" followed by a breakdown of his strengths and weaknesses, with Range rated as 2/5, Power 5/5, Vitality 4/5, Mobility 2/5, and Ease of Use 4/5.

See how VFX Artist Tyier Godette @FoxieMoose brought inner chaos to Arcane's Jinx & Vi, and balanced hitboxes with beautiful spirits on Spirit Blossom Teemo for 2XKO.

Here goes my final champ design for tuco! I really had a blast with this one..
We poured all of our remaining hearts and souls into Samira, and I couldn't have been more proud of what the team accomplished with this champ 🥹
We hope yall enjoy Samira for a long time!

One of the things I am most proud of from my time on 2XKO has been our push to have community side streams.
Everyone knows that during pools, there are dozens (if not hundreds) of great matches that happen off-stream.
By enabling community members to run side streams and working with the TO, we were able to double or even triple the number of matches streamed, while also supporting more languages, more creators, more communities.
Huge shout outs to @MK_RZA
@Chez_ib @Sh4rin_Papito and the many others that have contributed to our side streams this year, and shotouts to our TO partners for helping us make this crazy ideas possible. It wouldn't be possible without tight coordination across the board.
Anyway. 2XKO Top 8 is live in 2 hours. Let's make it a special one. 🫡

Had the distinct pleasure of being the Samira pod’s gameplay engineer. A bittersweet moment as she’s gonna be my final champ, but she’s sick and I can’t wait to see you all style on each other.

Had the pleasure and the honor of working with an incredible set of humans on 2XKO. Proud to have designed Samira for the game, and having done the champ art for both these characters in this last stretch❤️

Been thinking a lot about 2xko and my time on the project. I briefly want to vocalize what I'm most proud of.
We did a lot of great things. We built a lot of champions, a lot of moves, and did an immense amount of polish to make gameplay way cleaner than it was during the Alphas. That's all great, very cool or whatever.
But out of everything, there's nothing I'm more proud of than our Frame Bar.
- The 10 rollover frames to help readability, so you don't end sequences and need to decipher where you are
- The logic of asymmetric hitpause only being visible when projectiles or assists are on screen
- The options to toggle assist frame bars on/off for complexity
- Showing first active/last startup as a different color so you get accurate startup reads, accommodating our insane decision as an FGC to have 10 startup/5 active be a total of 14 frames
- Having it be exactly 120 frames, 2 in-game seconds.
- Chargeable frames being visible, so you can see how close you were to min charging
- Showing active-state-but-not-active-hitbox as a darker color, and updating all cinematics and throws to use this state (even though it literally has 0 gameplay impact)
Designing this thing felt like the culmination of 15 years of being a graphic designer, game designer, fighting game player, and lab monster.
I wouldn't change a thing. It's perfect.
Shoutouts to @adammarkstevens and @phytoporg for making it happen. This thing is a beast and out of everything on this project, I can't believe we got to make it real. A lifetime portfolio piece.

Sett was the last champ I had the pleasure of rigging for 2XKO. He was made on an EXTREMELY accelerated timeline compared to our other champs but the team knocked it out of the park.
We wanted to give players one last surprise and I’m so proud of what everyone cooked up. 💚2XKO

We crafted the trailer to be a big surprise and delight for the first players who saw it, but alas. That crane shot is one of my favorites!
It has truly been a joy and privilege to show off the team's incredible work and to see ya'll get excited for it the same way I do. 2X 4evr

just to set the record straight:
building Sett started after the feb layoffs, he wasn't always planned or delayed. he's coming out (along with The Climb) because the dev team took a big swing, rallied (despite half the team being gone) and built him in 6mo

With this, my last champ design for 2XKO has been announced. Fittingly, @bvdconcept's Samira and my Sett will come out together ♥️ An honor, a privilege, and a bittersweet end to a project I loved dearly. Endless flowers to the team who stayed to make this happen one last time
