Couldn't love this more: war veteran adopts an 8 year-old, 3-legged dog.
Karl served in the Army including deployment to Iraq. He's since separated from service, but once a hero always a hero.
Meet Pepper. Until a few days ago she was in the care of our partners @VCAnimalService with slim prospects for adoption.
You see, Pepper is a senior. A tripawd.
Two pretty big obstacles for most adopters, who favor younger, fully-abled pets—even though both seniors and tripawds have so much love to give.
But Karl isn't most people.
And now in addition to Army veteran, war hero, he can add 'dog dad' to his name.
If you're looking for perfection—in a pet, a person, in anything in life—we hate to break the news, but it doesn't exist.
But that doesn't mean that there isn't the perfect pet (or person, or whatever) for you.

Sir Ray of Sunshine Hill says goodnight. He is cuddled on my lap sleeping peacefully. He knows he is home and safe. When I think of how much this 13 year old blind boy has been through, glad we can give him some peace and love.
Adopted from @VCAnimalService last week.
