It’s wild watching white people get hoodwinked again.
Why should Holmes feeling sad about being portrayed on television for the crimes she committed be anyone’s concern? Why are you calling that “harm”? And why the fuck are you laying that at the actor’s feet?
I think Nathan Fielder did a really good job with You Can See Everything. Especially in showing how unwilling Amanda Seyfried was to acknowledge her own role in potentially harming another person. He had everyone looking at one another and questioning everyone else’s intentions, while seemingly being completely unwilling to examine their own behavior. I thought Amanda’s resistance to doing that was especially revealing
I also obviously think Billy is terrible. I think he’s cruel and exploitative. I’ve seen Elizabeth’s tweets for years and thought they were her. Finding out they’re his was jarring and sad.
But as much as I dislike Billy, I think he made a very good point. Why would he care what Amanda thinks? She’s an actress who has profited from portraying his wife as a bizarre and dishonest and manipulative freak to an audience that is largely voyeuristic, incredibly binary in their moral thinking, and seemingly unable to separate fiction from reality
I don’t think that Amanda needed to defend Elizabeth or excuse anything she’s done but I do think it’s bizarre how unwilling she seemed to consider that she might have contributed to another person’s suffering
Ita riveting, not a documentary, entirely something else and that’s the allure about it.
But adam is also right
Amanda is the only person in the entire movie that reflected on what she may have done wrong at all. Holmes never does. Billy never does. Even Nathan doesn't. Only Amanda does.

I’ve seen YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING, everyone, and No one, and I mean NO ONE walks away unscathed.
Elizabeth got exactly what she wanted out of nathan, a24, and the public. To me her scheming was transparent, but the folks around Her haven’t seemed to pick up on any of that.

Just when you thought that the Todrick Hall Slave Play drama couldn’t get any worse there is a clip of him writing to Ryan Murphy asking to be “his token Black boy” 15 years ago 🫠

This admin recently stripped away the ability from Americans to borrow enough student loan money to get a nursing degree
& now they’re whining about their own actions & the crisis they’ve caused?
RFK Jr. warns that a nationwide shortage of more than 50,000 nurses has become a healthcare crisis, hitting rural America especially hard.
Now, HHS is taking action to address the shortage and strengthen healthcare in underserved communities.
“Nurses here in Virginia, there is a deficit of 1,700 nurses.”
“Across the country, it’s over 50,000.”
“It is a genuine health crisis, particularly in rural areas.”
“It’s a priority for the president. We’re addressing it.”
“You’re going to hear a series of announcements over the next couple of weeks, but we’re already addressing this through expanded rural residencies and federally qualified health centers.”

The explanations for AI use in filmmaking are increasingly trying to appeal to audiences interested in certain issues, such as:
-Lack of funding for independent films
-Black historical storytelling
-Time constraints
That seems intentional to cement a path to AI acceptance.
"Merry the Christmas Witch" director Tom Walsh says his movie adaptation of the 2012 children’s book would've cost $80 million if he did not use AI. The final budget was $1.5 million.
“We were kind of stuck. The doors are not very open to new kind[s] of ideas and new kind[s] of stories and everything, and that makes it a little tough for independent filmmakers, so that’s where AI came in.”

If you came of age during the golden era of hip-hop, R&B, & grunge in the ’90s and early 2000s, you may remember Res (@the1res), born Shareese Renée Ballard. These days, a lot of Gen Z is getting to know her, too.

Something my mom recently noticed is that so many news outlets borrow Black lingo to promote their journalism without actually hiring Black journalists. I had a good, long talk with her about that. I see it every day.

Likes of DuVernay, Affleck and Boyle proudly using AI suggests ever-gaping disconnect between filmmakers and audiences that goes beyond tech itself and points to fundamental ignorance. Vast majority of us don't want this shit. Stop doing it. And certainly stop boasting about it.
