From price hikes and law and order to electricity, unemployment and administrative failures, almost every sector may need complete restructuring. Is this the new normal in Tamil Nadu? Growing up, I remember watching news about bomb blasts in Kashmir. After a point, it felt like these things kept happening and nothing could be done. Are we slowly reaching that stage? Other than blaming DMK, do Vijay and his party leaders have any solution?

I used to wonder why certain journalists face difficulties whenever governments change. Now I understand. Journalists who report facts are not the problem. The real problem is the vultures hiding behind the name of journalism, spreading biased news and political propaganda. They are not facing hardship for doing journalism. They are facing the consequences of turning journalism into political business.

How low can he go every single day? No improvement in the electricity sector. Even his own party member has alleged that government lawyer appointments were made in exchange for money. Now, if filing a case in court is enough to declare someone guilty, what about the multiple cases pending in connection with the Karur tragedy? Should we also conclude that Vijay is responsible and demand that he quit politics? Or does this logic apply only to his political opponents?

Dhanush entering politics looks more likely to me now. After Vijay’s unexpected win, has the cinema hero's question changed from “Who’s the next superstar?” to “Who’s the next CM?” Meanwhile, a friend back home said he had joined Annamalai’s “We The Leaders” and was planning to contest local body elections. I was shocked. This fellow had zero interest in politics in school. Also, No political family background either that suddenly changed his route now. Asked him, Why not join an established party? Too many people waiting already. Where will we get a chance? He never even tried. But that feeling was enough to send him elsewhere. How many youngsters feel the same? People aged 21–35 form roughly 29% of Tamil Nadu’s electorate, an estimated 1.66 crore voters. A generation that travels, sees more and discusses everything on social media. Will the same old ways of reaching them work? Annamalai’s route is different from the cinema crowd’s, but the field is getting crowded. Voters have more choices. Cadres have more doors to knock on. Established parties have strong roots. But who gives the next generation space to grow? Feels like an “innovate or die” situation is coming for everyone.
