For the first time, this is what a Master’s degree looks like.
Today, my daughter #RachelHandlin became the 1st person with #Downsyndrome to earn a graduate degree.
In the world.
Ever.

Patients should only be in hospital if really needed. 1 week in bed equates to a 20% loss of quad power and 10% loss of aerobic capacity. It’s important for individuals and also increasingly important to allow the whole system to function, and keep all hospital patients safe.

Under normal conditions, tau protein microtubules bind and stabilise axons (nerve fibres).
In TBI, damage to axons can result in free tau proteins which can eventually accumulate in the neurofibrillary tangles characteristic of Alzheimer’s.

Reflections on the power of words - does ‘accountability’ have negative connotations in the context of this framework? What about ‘performance management’ as part of an improvement and delivery system?
