After hearing from constituents who saw construction equipment at the site of Trump’s proposed arch, I drove down to Columbia Island to see for myself.
I found workers operating heavy equipment who told me they were conducting archaeological work.
Donald Trump is determined to find a way to push this project through by any means necessary, but I will continue doing everything in my power to stop him.

Matisse tapestries found throughout were gifted from France.
The massive starburst chandelier in the Opera Hall, and lights along walkways, were a gift from Sweden.
The record-breaking stage curtains were a gift from Japan. They had to build special looms to weave them because of how big they are.
The grounds are beautiful with displays of art.

The government's own National Park Service review wrote that Donald Trump's 250-foot arch would negatively affect 37 different historic sites including the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the Capitol, and Arlington National Cemetery. Despite this, they concluded that construction should continue anyways. Veterans are suing to stop its construction, and VoteVets is raising the alarm.
