who is building hr for all these assistants
Ben retweeted
ok so... there was a 2 day hackathon at work last week...
i built an infinite, 3D, ai native mmo called nocturne... it's set in the world of inkwell.
the server capacity is... pretty good..? i tested it with 1000 connections in the cloud.
it's written in a programming language i wrote (called ink).
it uses polygons & gaussian splat *frostings* for the graphics.
it has an adaptive music system that changes intensity and mood based on the gameplay.
the combat is kind of realtime dnd-like?
all of the npcs are powered by llms, you can talk to them, trade, fight them... they remember you..?
they have little neural nets inside them and they optimise for survival and happiness.
there's *trillions* of combinations of characters... *hundreds of millions* of spell combinations.
all of the creatures have a genome, they reproduce and have mutations creating new creature types...
you can catch them like in pokemon... there's semantic crafting and alchemy... you can be turned into a vampire and burn in the sunlight..?
there's a day & night cycle... seasons... fires spread, rain puts them out, ice freezes over lakes...
you can become a werewolf and infect others? or a weredragon? even a wererat.
you can ride on goats, sheep, horses, eagles and dragons...
aliens can abduct you or the farm animals...
and when you do... you can discover and explore their home planets with different physics.
there's giant colossal beasts to fight, demigods with trials that give you world changing powers...
you can get portals in a bag that take you to home's you can customise like in tiny glade...
oh and there's an api... so people can connect their local agents to it and build their own worlds...
rift's open up and invasions happen. villages learn traditions and will fear you if you treat them badly...
there's open pvp everywhere and you drop all of your gear if you die.
if you try to do pvp in the main cities, then mages will spawn in and try to kill you.
oh... there's also semantic scrying.. you can get any item and cast a spell and it opens a portal to the closest thing that is semantically similar... got a bone? maybe it'll take you to a graveyard... a log? a forest, etc.
i feel like i haven't even *scratched the surface* with how deep this game is, but this post is pretty long... so... *dream bigger*.
man tim's reply bots are something else
i think this is probably the future of software
Introducing Anatomy
Describe a machine in one line. Claude brings it to life.
- Interactive isometric wireframes you can rotate, inspect and explore
- WebGL shaders for fire, water, plasma and more
- Real 3D motion, with individual parts that rotate and move
Install it as an agent skill. Fully open source.

Ben Affleck reveals he writes Python, understands convolutional neural networks, worked extensively with GPUs, and used his celebrity status to get private looks at Google and OpenAI’s video models
“I’ve always been kind of into computers since I was young. Then, when film started to move from analog film to digital, I became more interested in that aspect of it. The visual-effects workflow for many years has included machine learning, so I can write pretty shitty Python scripts and stuff like that.
“With convolutional neural networks, which were the precursors to what the transformer can do, which is much more computation simultaneously, you would do things like look at what’s called a tensor. That’s the numerical translation of a visual image in numbers, like the batch number, the frame number and the red, green and blue values of each pixel in each frame. It’s just that simple. That numeric is called a tensor.
“You’d use a convolutional neural network to identify patterns that reveal what’s called edge detection or feature extraction, which is identifying patterns well enough to know, this is where the window ledge is, so we can more easily take the green-screen image out and replace it with something.
“That was familiar to me early on because, prior to Artists Equity, I had a small visual-effects company. I’ve worked with GPUs a lot too. The visual-effects guys said, ‘Hey, you should see. There are a couple: Google and this other company, OpenAI, are doing really interesting stuff with transformers in video.’
“I’ve learned that I can actually just call up and go, ‘Hey, it’s Ben Affleck. Can I come see what you’re doing?’ Sometimes people say yes, to my astonishment.”
it's crazy that they released this and didnt put it into the web browser they bought
Most AI is a solo act. We’re making it a team sport.
Today at Team ‘26 Europe, we’re introducing Agentic Multiplayer Protocol (AMP).
How it works:
🤝 Work alongside your agents across every surface.
🤝 Know who’s who, who’s doing what, and who did what, when.
🤝 Agents are grounded in organizational context to deliver real impact.
we've tried a bunch of things in the @argdotai team - mostly just helped having AGENTS.md explicitly checking git blame, and a dedicated docs/ folder for product decisions
not perfect, but also - it's very easy to prompt it back if things break
we've mostly gotten past the slop issue in this new world of working together with AI
the next problem is people keep accidentally undoing functionality
this is happening because everyone is more in everyone else's business. hit an issue? fix it right away without nagging anyone
the problem is it's unclear how intentional the current behavior is and what absolutely should not be rolled back
you can say tests should be this. but they don't capture the fact that you discarded seemingly valid solutions 1-4 and settled on 5. someone later (an agent) might thing "oh 3 is simpler"
any additional document also doesn't feel like it solves the problem because it's yet another thing that can drift
where is the source of truth for how your software is supposed to work?
arg.ai has had one since may - manus ngmi
Why did Manus launch a Video Editor? Because we realized creating a great video is not just about generating the footage.
It's about:
- Browsing the internet to figure out what's viral
- Writing code to create motion graphics, layouts, and map routes
- Using the best models and tools for each step
